☀️ 🐻 EE Sun Bear Competition Winner 🐻☀️

EE and Camperdown Wildlife Centre have partnered to create a lasting legacy through our ongoing partnership, volunteering efforts, and the donation of a sun bear sculpture.

We invited young people to take part in a unique opportunity to design a sun bear in their own creative way as part of EE's PhoneSmart initiative.

PhoneSmart is an educational program that helps kids and adults learn how to use the internet safely through interactive stories and activities, ultimately earning their PhoneSmart Licence.

Leisure & Culture Dundee, including Camperdown Wildlife Centre is pleased to announce its participation in the Hidden Disabilities Sunflower Lanyard Scheme, an initiative aimed at enhancing the experience of those with hidden disabilities.

The scheme highlights that not all disabilities are visible and that many of us live with a non-visible condition.

Camperdown Wildlife Centre and café have now signed up to Breastfeeding Friendly Scotland, a scheme implemented by . All employees have been trained to support your right to breastfeed and are aware of the laws around breastfeeding. The scheme supports anyone breastfeeding to feel welcome when visiting us and reinforces they will never be asked to move or stop feeding.

Due to the extreme weather conditions Leisure & Culture Dundee facilities and services will remain closed to the public on Saturday, 21 October and Sunday, 22 October 2023.

This is with the exception of Dundee Ice Arena which will be open for the Dundee Stars Ice Hockey match on Sunday evening. This events is subject to change and any updates in relation to this will be made on our social media and on the venue website.

DISC - the Dundee International Sports Complex in Mains Loan has been open as a rest centre for residents most in need due to the continuing severe weather. Our partners at Dundee City Council advise residents in need to call their customer services on 01382 434000 to get any more information or if they need assistance to get to the rest centre.

We thank everyone for their patience and support at this time.

Members go free and you can become a member on the day with many benefits!
The group are a fantastic support to the Centre’s conservation projects and regularly assist in many of our projects locally and in the wild.

We're very pleased to announce that one of our Lar Gibbons has given birth to a beautiful baby. The youngster was born on the 25th of April 2023 and is doing well at the Wildlife Centre.

Lar Gibbons are threatened by rapid habitat loss which puts their future in great danger, so our lar gibbons are an important part of a coordinated European breeding programme.
