New Roof Funding Update

Morning All,

Today’s wet weather is perfect for doing a few sums, we know you all enjoy numbers 😉

We are delighted to share our fundraising target of £41,982 is in sight 🎉

FET have offered £29,907 and we are hoping we will soon hear whether our application to Fife Council’s Common Good Fund for £10,000 has been successful.

This leaves us with our contribution of £2,075 to raise and we are delighted to share we are well on our way to achieving this amount thanks to our wonderful Community Hub users!

Our supporters have donated an incredible £1,600 including a very generous donation of £200 from an anonymous resident leaving us with a target of £475 to raise. 👏

We want to thank you for your support this far and thank you for any contribution however small you are able to make, please just pop in our Donations Jar.

All our egg sales support this project too so please shop local at our Community Bakery each Friday from 11am onwards. (we’ve resisted cracking any egg jokes 😂)

Culross Stables Community Hub - January Update
Culross Stables has enjoyed a busy start to the year with all our regular groups & activities up and running and as busy as ever!

It was great to be able to open the building following Storm Éowyn and offer hot drinks and scones to those in need - we are thinking of creating a ‘what’s app’ group to be able to share information more widely during bad weather events or last minute changes of plan - we hope to share news about this in the near future.

The Well, the information service run by Fife Health & Social Care Partnership to promote health and well-being, will be visiting on Friday 28th February to share advice and offer for support with health and well-being, to help carers, those who feel isolated, and those searching for other groups throughout the week. Please come along during the Community Crust to find out more, everyone welcome.

If you would like to be a part of the Culross Stables community, our activities are listed above or come along to the Community Crust & Bakery from 12 noon on a Friday and make yourself at home.

Culross Stables Community Hub Senior’s Group
The Senior’s Group meets twice weekly at Culross Stables on Tuesday’s & Friday’s to be together for company, conversation and lunch, with the added option of exercise & chair yoga for those who wish.

It would be wonderful to get a few new tables together for men and/or women over 60 who live nearby. A warm welcome and cuppa await new faces and if any seniors (or people over 60) would like any more information about the Seniors Group, please do not hesitate to email:
[email protected] or text or call Clare on 07799 065 351

Please let us know if you have any other suggestions for who should visit the Stables.

Culross Stables Community Bakery
Bread is on sale every Friday from 11am - our aim is to offer a local place where local people can buy good quality bread (for example seeded & non-seeded loaves, ciabatta), focaccia, scones and cakes. We also sell free range eggs from Eggs O’Lynn, Saline.

‘Culross Bakery’ is also now on Instagram to spread the word and share news with those not on Village Email or Facebook. Culross Bakery accepts payments by cash or card.

🎉🎉🎉 THANK YOU FOR AN INCREDIBLE YEAR 🎉🎉🎉

On this last day of 2024, we would like to say a huge 'thank you' to everyone who has helped to make Culross Stables Community Hub into a thriving and vibrant place for all.

It's been an incredible year and we would like to give a special thank you to our hard working staff team, our many volunteers and helpers, our activity providers, and all who have donated their time, energy, skills and home baking & tablet - together you have helped us create a community place where classes and activities were available on 328 days of the year, excluding our holidays, meaning we had something on offer a phenomenal 99% of the available days!

This year has seen a transformation of our outdoor spaces with the completion of our Community Bakery in March, its extension in October, Anchor Garden make-over in March, new back gates fitted in May, the outdoor kitchen constructed & creation of raised beds in July, CCTV fitted in August, flat roof repaired in September and new outdoor decking laid in October.

We are also well on our way towards raising the 5% contribution towards our new replacement roof project, due to take place in 2025.

If you would like to be a part of the Culross Stables community, our activities are listed above or come along to the Community Crust & Bakery from 12 noon on a Friday and make yourself at home.

Doors open again on Monday 6th January for Toddlers group.
Until then, we would like to wish you a very happy and healthy New Year.

Clare, Elaine, Martin & Robin

Wishing you all a Merry Christmas and look forward to seeing you all again w/c 6th January 2025.
