We run our own out of hours service with vets and nurses in the surgery 24/7 to ensure that your pet gets the best standard of care around the clock 💕

Dr Liz Black

Liz has been with Parklands since 2015.
Liz really enjoys interesting medical cases and intricate surgical cases. She is currently working hard to obtain her Post Graduate Certificate in Small Animal Medicine.

Outside of work Liz enjoys spending time with her family, travelling and being in nature 🌻🌳

🎉International Day of Charity 🎉

During the year many of our team have participated in various fundraisers for local charities😁
We have done ziplining/Christmas photoshoot for Tyrone Husky Rescue , the Belfast marathon for and donated food to Portadown Pet Food Bank

Our team members love getting to roll their sleeves up and fundraise for local charities!
Keep an eye out for more information on any fundraisers we will be doing 😁

We have vets and nurses in the surgery 24/7 to ensure your pet is taken care of around the clock💕

This week in our out of hours, one of our clients needed an emergency c-section and our vet and nurse safely delivered 4 healthy pups💖🐕
Mum and pups have been seen since in their post-op check and are doing very well

Shannon Smith

Shannon has been with Parklands since 2023. Shannon started off as one of our Small Animal reception team and has recently stepped into a Social Media and Marketing role also.
Shannon's favourite thing about her job is meeting all the animals that come into our surgery!

Outside of work she enjoys photography, concerts and spending time with her dog Harley📷🐕

A member of the public has handed in a grey female cat found on the Lisaclare rd Killen.
We are eager to find this little lady's owners as she looks very well looked after and we know someone will be missing her!

🌟Hero of the week🌟

Meet the wonderful Darla!

Darla came to the rescue recently when we had a very poorly inpatient who needed a blood transfusion.
Darla's owner was on our blood transfusion list and brought her straight in!
Darla was given a light sedation to keep her calm as she donated 450ml of blood which was then transferred to our patient, helping to save his life!
How proud does Darla look after her good deed 😄
We are very grateful for Darla and her owners for their generosity in donating blood♥️

If you are interested in joining our blood doners list please have a look at the following-

🐶For dogs :

Fit and healthy
Between one and eight years old
Weigh more than 25kg
Have a good temperament
Have never travelled outside of the UK and Ireland
Vaccinated
Not on any medication

🐱For cats:

Fit and healthy
Have a good temperment
Between 1 and 10 years old
Weigh more than 4kg
Up to date with vaccinations
Up to date with flea and worm treatments
Not on any medication
Have never travelled abroad
Have never had a blood transfusion

Claire Dilly
Registered Veterinary Nurse

Claire has been with Parklands since 2019. She started off as an animal nursing assistant then progressed to student nurse and has worked her way up to become a Registered Veterinary Nurse. Claire's favourite aspect of being a RVN is emergency and critical care.

Outside of work Claire enjoys looking after her Highland cow and her two dogs Winnie & Chip 🐕🐕

Our OOH service is available from our Dungannon practice. We have vets and nurses that stay within the practice 24/7 to ensure your beloved pets are receiving the best care possible 🐾🩷

Dr Andrew Turkington
Clinical Director
MA, VET MB, MRCVS

Andrew is one of our small animal Senior Vets and Clinical Directors. Andrew has been with Parklands since 2009.
He specialises in making animals better!🐱🐶🐰
Andrews main specialty is orthopaedics and soft tissue but he is the jack of all trades in the veterinary world!
Outside of work Andrew enjoys getting out on his boat, fishing and entertaining.🛥️🎣

🐶Columbo🐶
Columbo came into us as his owner noticed he was limping and he had a sore paw.
Our vet Aidan examined him and found a not so little surprise hidden in his paw! 😱
Thankfully Aidan was able to remove it with some local anaesthetic.
Check out the video in the comments to see how big the thorn in poor Columbos' paw was!

You should check your pets paws after walks to check if there are any surprises hidden 😊

Columbo is feeling much better now and getting plenty of cuddles from his owner 😁

🐶National Check The Chip Day!🐱

Today is National Check The Chip Day, which is a day designed to remind owners to check their pets microchip. Whether that be making sure all the details are correct or getting their pet microchipped 🙂
Microchips are such a simple but powerful tool that allows owners to be contacted in the event that their pet has gone on a big adventure and need to be reunited with their very worried owners!

It is a legal requirement that all dogs are microchipped so you could face a fine if they are not.
It is all pets owners responsibility to make sure all details are correct and up to date 🙂

Sharon Hazelton
Branch Manager

Meet Sharon, our fantastic branch manager! Sharon has been with Parklands for 19 years. Sharon takes care of all the staff in our Dungannon branch and facilitates the day to day running and maintenance of the branch. In addition to being our Branch Manager, Sharon also oversees the running of our busy poultry department! Sharon has a keen interest in export certification.

Outside of work Sharon takes care of her herd of pygmy goats 🐐 and being a mummy 💖

A female cat was handed into our Dungannon branch yesterday afternoon, unfortunately deceased.
She was a brown and ginger tabby, not microchipped or wearing a collar.
Found in Dunavon park in Dungannon.

If you think this is your cat please call us on 028 8775 2299 between 9am and 7pm, Monday to Friday.
