Earlier this year, you might recall that we donated Oralade to volunteers who were rescuing animals in the midst of the war in Ukraine. Recently, we received an update on one of the dogs that was rescued and treated with Oralade. In the first photo, it’s hard to even recognise that this is a dog—scared, septic, and barely clinging to life. Now, this sweet girl, renamed Vivienne, has made a remarkable recovery and is enjoying her second chance at life with her new family in France.

The word "disappointment" hardly captures our feelings regarding K9 Search & Rescue NI recent application rejection. Through our sponsorship of this incredible team of dogs and handlers, we have witnessed their dedication, resilience, and determination firsthand. It’s difficult for us to comprehend how an organisation that offers LIFE-SAVING services is not fully utilised when they are ready and available. We sincerely hope that K9SAR receives the recognition they rightfully deserve and that this decision is reconsidered. For countless individuals, they have represented the line between life and death.

When a hoglet becomes separated from its mother, survival is often unlikely. This highlights the vital role of rescue centres like Ryston Rachel's Hedgehog Hotel. This particular hoglet is just one among the 465 injured and orphaned hoglets taken in by this Hedgehog Rescue centre this year. The images tell a powerful story; centres like these serve as lifelines, providing second chances for these charming little beings.

Recently receiving a donation from Oralade, staff informed us “every hoglet is given Oralade on admission. They remain on Oralade for as long as needed, which is often for several weeks...”. When we receive feedback after the use of Oralade, the stories of the animals it has rescued are nothing short of extraordinary. We express our deepest gratitude to the volunteers and rescue shelters, like this one, for their invaluable contributions to wildlife conservation.

Antifreeze is a sneaky culprit, packed with ethylene glycol, a super toxic substance that’s not just chilling in your car but also lurking in stuff like screen wash, brake fluid, and even your fancy garden fountains! Just a tiny sip can turn your pup's kidneys into a sad mess. The kicker? Ethylene glycol is sweet like candy, making it oh-so-tempting for our furry friends! They can even track it in on their paws from spills. So, don’t forget to give those paws a good wipe when they come inside!

𝗦𝘆𝗺𝗽𝘁𝗼𝗺𝘀 𝗼𝗳 𝗮𝗻𝘁𝗶𝗳𝗿𝗲𝗲𝘇𝗲 𝗽𝗼𝗶𝘀𝗼𝗻𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗶𝗻 𝗱𝗼𝗴𝘀
Once ingested, symptoms of antifreeze poisoning can manifest in as little as one hour and typically include:

- Wobbliness and weakness – these symptoms usually appear within an hour of consumption and may improve shortly after.
- Vomiting
- Low energy (lethargy)
- Increased thirst
- Increased urination initially, followed by decreased urination from one to three days after ingestion.
- Difficulty breathing or rapid breathing
- Seizures (fits)
- Collapse
