😍 It's National Dog Day! 😍
Today is the day to celebrate everything about our loveable furry friends, no matter what breed or age they are.
This awareness day also exists to help us recognise the sheer volume of dogs that need to be rescued each year from shelters.
So hold your pooches even closer today and give them a big smooch from me! 😘
👏🏻 Today’s 5 top tips to get back on the dog training bandwagon. 👏🏻
🐾Set your dog training goals for the month. Keep them realistic and don’t set yourself too much to do!
🐾 Schedule a quick 5 minutes into your calendar each day for training with your dog. Consistency is key!
🐾 Keep treats in various places around your home so you can do a quick training session as you go about your day (Make those rewards worthwhile - high value treats are key!)
🐾 Build up complexity in stages and over time. Don’t run before you can walk!
🐾Keep training fun and enjoyable for both of you. Don’t be too serious all the time! If it stops being enjoyable, take a break.
If you’ve let things slip for a while, that’s ok. Follow these tips to quickly ease you and your dog back into things again. If you’d appreciate a helping hand from a professional, we’re always here to help. 💕
Send us a DM and let’s chat about what you need.
The importance of sniffing
We get it, you’re on a walk and your dog seems to be sniffing for what seems like forever. “Hurry up!” You’re thinking 💭
But do you know why it’s so important to let them do this? 👃
- It’s mentally enriching!
- it’a a form of communication!
- It’s relaxing!

You’re my best friend 🤍
From bump to baby, the love has been there from the start. Seeing their relationship grow is so special and warms my heart each day 🤍
One of the best parts of my job is working with families to help flourish these relationships between children and dogs and create a safe environment for everyone. I’m so proud to be part of @kadkidsarounddogs as an approved professional for my local area.
Bringing a new baby home is a big transition for everyone, including your pets. I’m here to make that transition less daunting and to help along the way. The bond between children and animals can be so special so starting that relationship off right is the key to success.

Owner Guilt
Ever experienced a feeling of guilt when it comes to your pooch? I’ll let you in on a secret, so have I.
When we become a dog owner we usually have expectations for both ourselves and our dogs. There may be certain things we want to train, experiences to share or a certain lifestyle we wish to lead with our furry friend.
But sometimes, life happens! Whether it be a change in your personal/work life or an unexpected event… things happen. This means that the plans you initially had might change and those goals you had might be further away. You’re left feeling guilty, thinking about the “what if’s” and “I should be’s” because things haven’t panned out the way you thought.
Life is never smooth sailing and ultimately sometimes that will affect us as owners and the relationship with our dogs. There may be days when your dog doesn’t get that long walk or that behaviour you’ve been working on seems to have gone backwards. Remember, it’s ok! You have not failed your dog, this is a part of normal life and dog ownership. Continue to show up each day and do what you can.
You’re doing your best, don’t forget that.
