Celebrating World Spay Day! 🎉🐾
Today is all about raising awareness of the importance of spaying and neutering our furry friends. 🐶🐱 These simple procedures not only prevent unwanted litters but can also help improve your pet's overall health and well-being. 💖

Let’s give our pets the best start in life! 🌟 If you’re curious about spaying or neutering, we’re here to answer your questions! 💬 Check out some of our lovely patients who’ve recently visited us.

⚠️💐Important notice💐⚠️

We will be closing between 12-4pm on the 27th of February so that staff can attend Bev’s memorial service.

You will still be able to contact us at our Dunmow branch (01371872102) in case of an emergency. We will be open as usual from 4pm at Dunmow, but closed at Takeley for the entire afternoon.

Thank you to all of our lovely clients for understanding ❤️

Our fantastic animal nursing assistant Sophie ⭐️

We’re thrilled to introduce Sophie, one of our dedicated Level 2 Veterinary Care Support apprentices here at GVNC! Sophie has kindly taken time out of her busy day at Moloney Veterinary Clinic to chat with us in celebration of National Apprenticeship Week 🌟

Here’s a glimpse into her apprenticeship journey:

🔹What made you choose the apprenticeship route rather than the other options available?

"An apprenticeship provides hands-on experience. The practical knowledge is invaluable and is much more relevant than theoretical learning alone. You can apply your learning immediately which enhances your understanding and retention of the knowledge learnt. An apprenticeship also enables me to earn whilst I learn which alleviates financial pressure and allows me to be able to focus on my learning and career."

🔹 How would you compare the past courses you have taken to this one?

"In this course, I’m evaluated continuously using various methods, including practical assessments rather than solely relying on exams, which offers a more thorough evaluation of my skills. Additionally, the environment here is more collaborative and supportive compared to other courses I’ve taken. The communication and teamwork are outstanding, and I feel comfortable asking fellow students and tutors for help whenever necessary without any pressure."

🔹 What is the best thing about studying on an apprenticeship?

"The best thing about studying on an apprenticeship is the combination of hands-on experience and theoretical learning. I get to apply what I learn in real-world situations, which helps reinforce my understanding and skills. Additionally, I often receive guidance from experienced professionals, which can be incredibly valuable for my personal and career development. Plus, it allows me to build a network and gain insights into the industry that you wouldn't get in a traditional classroom setting."

🔹 Where did you hear about this apprenticeship?

"The area manager for our practice, Gary Rutland, introduced me to this course as a great course to do before progressing on to a veterinary nursing course."

🔹 Once you have attained your qualification, what area would you consider furthering your career in?

"Once I attain my qualification, I want to further my career by becoming a veterinary nurse. I’m really passionate about animal care and working closely with animals and helping them through their health challenges would be incredibly rewarding for me."

We’re so proud of Sophie and excited to be part of her journey! 🙌

🌟Kiki’s Journey🌟

Meet Kiki, one of our star patients of 2024!

In her first year of life, Kiki faced a tough challenge. Due to a developmental issue, her kneecaps (patellas) were weak, and she unfortunately managed to break both during the year! But with some vet detective work, the right treatment, and plenty of love and pampering from her amazing owners, she’s bounced back beautifully.

As you can see, Kiki is now living her best life without a care in the world! ✨

Let’s all wish her a much easier and injury free 2025!

Dental Descaling for Pets: Why It’s Important?

Just like humans, pets can suffer from plaque buildup, tartar, and gum disease if their teeth aren’t properly cared for.

Dental descaling is a professional cleaning procedure performed by a veterinary surgeon to remove hardened plaque from your pet’s teeth, helping to prevent dental disease and other health issues.

Signs Your Pet May Need a Dental Descale:
✔ Bad breath (a strong odor from the mouth)
✔ Yellow or brown tartar buildup on the teeth
✔ Red, swollen, or bleeding gums
✔ Difficulty eating or chewing on toys
✔ Pawing at the mouth or excessive drooling

Preventing Tartar Buildup
🐾 Brush their teeth- regularly with pet-friendly toothpaste
🐾 Schedule regular vet check-ups to monitor dental health

It is with great sadness that we announce the loss of our wonderful deputy practice manager and receptionist Bev Emmett who unexpectedly passed away yesterday.
Bev was a wonderful colleague and friend to us all, and a hugely important member of the Moloney's team.
This has come as an enormous shock, so we ask that you please bear with us while we struggle to adjust to such a heart-breaking loss.
We are devastated to have to break this news, and our hearts go out to all of Bev’s friends and family.
