How long you have worked on Lookout Lodge?

Have you met Pembe? Pembe lives opposite the Lookout Lodges and is usually one of the first animals our guests get to see.

Mountain Bongos are critically endangered, with fewer than 100 remaining in the wild. Pembe therefore plays an important role in the European Endangered Species (Breeding) Programme.

Did you know that Aardvarks can dig huge burrows, at a rate of 2ft per 15 seconds!

Once aardvarks move on from these burrows the burrows are often taken over by other animals such as African Wild Dogs, Warthogs, Porcupines and Hyenas.

Great news today - the fate of the Scimitar-horned oryx has been reversed!

This is the first species of our Extinct in the Wild global initiative to have been downlisted to endangered.
