Also we have vast experience in large breeds and working dogs, which can be problematic to get appropriate care for. We are a recently established business and a husband and wife team. Dogs have always been a main passion in our lives, and it has always been a desire of ours to work with them in some capacity. Well, jointly we have around 45 years experience jointly of owning and handling large br

eeds; Bullmastiffs, Dogue de Bordeaux, and in recent years working breeds; Dutch Herder and Malinois. From experience, we have found it difficult to find care for them. Therefore, it is our intention to offer a service, with our vast knowledge and experience of large breed and working dogs. Of course, ALL dogs are welcome, no matter how big or small. We endeavour to offer your dogs the best service and attention whilst in our care. https://www.monarchfabrications.co.uk/ completed the building of our block of 6 state-of-the-art thermal kennels (see photos). We are licensed with the Durham County council and insured with Protectivity. Documents can be seen on request. TERMS & CONDITIONS
No booking is secured until we receive your 20% non-refundable deposit. The remaining balance is due on or before the day of boarding. MEET & GREET
We will offer a meet and greet so your dogs are familiarised with us and our environment. COLLECTION & DROP OFF TIMES
We will try to accommodate your requirements as best we can. However, please be aware that we have a business to run and other dogs to care for. Please consider your flight times when completing the booking form. If you have an early morning flight, you may need to start your booking from the day before your departure for this reason. EXERCISE
BOARDING DOGS will be exercised to a minimum of twice a day. Our exercise areas are safe and secure, so they'll get the freedom to run and enjoy their daily exercise sessions. We will off other enrichment activities for dogs that cannot walk very far due to health or age. CLEANING
We will be using Pet Fresh disinfectant throughout the premises to ensure high levels of hygiene. Kennels and dog bowls will be thoroughly cleaned in between each dog stay to eliminate any potential cross-contamination. Kennels will be cleaned daily. Any bags of dog waste will be disposed of correctly. We will use your dog's own bedding if required whenever possible. FEEDING
You supply your dog's food and treats as you know your dog's diet best. Dogs will be fed separately, and mealtimes will be supervised. Dogs from the same household will be fed according to the client's recommendation unless we deem it to be unsafe. SHARING A KENNEL
Dogs from the same household will only share a kennel with written consent from their owners and if we feel it safe. Dogs from separate homes will not be left alone together. BOARDING PUPPIES UNDER A YEAR
All dogs under the age of 12 months, where possible, will be given time to explore the environment, sounds and be kept entertained with activities and objectives. Training will be positively rewarding. VACCINATION, DISEASE CONTROL & PREVENTION
We need to see a copy of your dog's vaccination record and keep it on-site throughout your dog's stay. You are responsible for keeping your dogs' vaccination updated. Unfortunately, we can't accept any dog/s if their vaccinations are not up to date. If a restart is required, remember it's 2 weeks after the last vaccination before boarding. Please flea, worm, and tick treat your dog/s before their stay. If your dog comes to us with Kennel Cough or any other infectious disease/illness we will be unable to accept them and will contact you or your emergency contact to come and collect them. We will isolate your dog/s until they are collected. Then the premises will undergo thorough cleaning using Pet Fresh disinfectant. We accept no responsibility if your dog develops Kennel Cough while in our care or shortly after as it is a virus and can be picked up from anywhere. However, we can reassure you that our premises will be fully disinfected as per a DEFRA-compliant cleaning regime to prevent the spread of Kennel Cough. This applies to both vaccinated and non-vaccinated dogs as the Kennel Cough vaccine is not a 100% guarantee. URGENT CARE
If your dog becomes ill or urgently needs vet treatment whilst in our care and we have your permission, we will use Dunelm vets in Durham, or the nearest practice immediately available. You are responsible for any vet bills that may occur. We will contact you or your emergency contact for advice and keep you updated on the care your dog is receiving. DISEASE, ILLNESS & DEATH
If your dog shows any signs of disease or illness it will be isolated from the other dogs until we have received advice from the vets. If your dog has an infectious disease, we will contact you or your emergency contact (always kept up to date at all times) and contact the licensing authority on the next working day. Following an infectious disease, we will undergo a quarantine period on the vet's advice if necessary before boarding is allowed to resume. We will inform the authority of any death on the premises and arrangements will be made for your vet to keep your dog until you return. You are responsible for the cost of all vet bills

🐾Meet Griff

Our 17-month-old German Shepherd is looking for a new and loving forever home. 💙

Sadly, Griff doesn’t have what it takes to become a police dog, but we think he has a key role to play as a valued member of someone’s family.

🐶 He is a young dog, with plenty of energy and would enjoy living with an active family where he will get lots of exercise and regular walks.

The young pup is friendly and loves to play with other sociable dogs. He is crate trained and has lived both inside and outside.

Griff has plenty experience with different environments such as roads, noisy places, and travels well in vehicles.

🦮 He can pull a little on the leash, so some strong handling maybe required.

Given his young age and breed he can sometimes be excitable and boisterous so can only be rehomed with older children.

🏡 Homes will be favoured to those that have previous experience with the German Shepherd breed and to those who are already on our rehoming list with a specific interest in Griff.

We are asking for a donation of £650.

💻 Anyone interested in offering Griff a new home, please email [email protected] for further information.

Home checks will need to be carried out before any rehome goes ahead.

This boy is still looking for his forever home, big lad, but very loving 🐾❤️🐾

Meet Seth – who's on the lookout for a new home in the North East. 💙

The 10-year-old Belgian Shepherd retired as a General Purpose dog earlier this year after a stellar service with the Force.

He's now looking for a forever home to deservedly put up his paws and live out the rest of his life as a much-loved pet.

🗣 Sergeant Adam Fegan, who works in our Dog Section, said: “Seth's a fit and well dog who has no health concerns other than old age slowing him down a little.

“He still enjoys his walks but doesn’t need mile-long walks – throwing of a ball or taking a nice stroll would suit him down to the ground.

“Seth’s a large dog at 42kg, but is very obedient, walks closely on and off the leash and has a good standard of other obedience. He loves humans and adores a scratch around the ear. 🐾

“He’s lived his entire life outside so may take a little adjusting to living indoors. He would be best suited with older children in their teens or a home with no other pets.

“He can be dog aggressive, so would need to be walked in fields or areas with little chance of crossing paths with other dogs.”

Are you interested in providing a home for Seth?

📲 If so, please register your interest by emailing [email protected]. We will then contact the most suitable applicants with more information.

Due to the recent weather 💦☔️💦 our paddocks shall remain closed. We shall review them mid March, weather permitting and fingers crossed 🤞 we shall reopen. We will keep you all updated 🐾🐶🐾

03/12/2021

Due to weather conditions, and further rain, we have decided to close the paddocks until further notice. This is for safety reasons due to the paddocks being heavily waterlogged and very muddy. Sorry for any inconvenience this will cause you, we will keep you updated 🐾🐾😊
