As we look to close out another year (where does the time go!), we’d just like to thank all of our wonderful clients for their support and wish you all a happy and healthy 2024 🥳
Just a gentle reminder that busy holiday times are already booking up quickly, so please make sure you book early to avoid disappointment, and that all dogs are kept up to date with their vaccinations.

There will also be a small increase from 1st Jan 2024, and if you have already booked with us and have any questions, please do give us a call to discuss further.
1 dog per night = £22.50
2 dogs per night = £33.00
3 dogs per night = £42.50
4 dogs per night = £47.50
Anything else will be discussed and confirmed over the phone.

Please also see below for our cancellation terms.
Notice within 24 hours = 100% of booking
Notice within 72 hours = 50% of the booking
Notice within 2 weeks = 25% of the booking
Exceptions subject to our discretion but can be discussed further.

We would just like to update and inform you all that unless we have any cancellations between now and the end of September we are all ready fully booked. Bookings this year have gone crazy and I could of filled the kennels 3 times over on some weeks.
We are only a small kennel of 15 kennel rooms, and we have no plans to expand.
We are also now fully booked for Christmas 🤦‍♀️, this have never happened before this early in the year, so again unless we have any cancellations we have no availability between 23/12-27/12.
Moving forward to 2023, the diary is open and we have bookings already throughout the year.

Thrilled to announce that we have been awarded a 5* Rating from Stroud District Council ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

This is such a fantastic achievement for our small family business, assuring you that your pooches are in the very best of hands 🐶

On a more personal note, we are very proud to have maintained our high standards throughout another rollercoaster year with Covid, and Pad being unwell, and are very grateful to have such a supportive and understanding client base!

Thank you once again for supporting us through another year of uncertainty! Kicking off the year with Pad being ill, having to deal with various stages of lockdowns and booking then rebooking holidays, boosters, vaccines and all the rest - it’s been a lot so thank you for being such fantastic clients!
Pad is on the mend and looking forward to getting stuck back in down the kennels from the new year 😊

We would just like to let you know that key, busy holiday times are already booking up fast for next year (Easter and Summer Holidays in particular) so please make sure you book early to avoid disappointment 🐾

For the first time since opening in 2016, there will also be a small price increase from the 4th January 2022
1 dog per night = £17.50
2 dogs per night = £27.50
3 dogs per night = £33
Anything else will be discussed over the phone

Day Care Charge will also increase:
1 dog = £12.50
2 dogs = £20
Anything more to be discussed

Just another polite notice.. VACCINATIONS

Now the world is getting back to some normality and our bookings diary is filling up, may we please remind you, to enable us to keep our license, it is a requirement that boarding establishments follow strict DEFRA regulations. Where it states all canines are to be fully vaccinated to include annual boosters. We will accept an up to date Titre test certificate too.
THEREFORE please remember to bring you vaccination cards with you on drop off, or an Email to be sent to me from your vets practice to show your dog is up to date.
Unfortunately we are unable to accept any dogs that are not fully vaccinated.

Good morning

Just a polite notice, please if you’re not going to be able to make your booking, please could you call or message and let us know.

Like many other businesses we have been severely affected by the current economic climate as a result of COVID-19. We have not put our prices up this year as we had planned to do because of the situation we are all in, but it is very frustrating when we have people just not turn up, we’ve had two ‘no shows’ this week alone.
Understandably the summer season is a very busy period for us and we are frequently fully booked and having to turn people away.
You will not be charged for a cancellation fee but some notice would be greatly appreciated by our small business

It’s been very hot the last few days at the Kennels, but we are doing everything we can to help keep our dogs cool from the heat, limited walks and we are cold hosing down the kennel runs to help keep the dogs cool. We’ve also got paddling pools and fans.. here are a couple of photos of our largest resident taking full advantage of the pool and fan. 🐶🐾😊😎

Confirmation of your booking with us would also be greatly appreciated as we understand that some flights and accommodations are still yet to be confirmed by your provider.

As a result of the current lockdown situation we are all in, we had some bags of dog food already opened ready for our Easter canine visitors, who understandably cancelled with us.
We therefore wanted to donate the food to a worthy cause. A close friend is a fundraiser for Many Tears Animal Rescue so we have sent them 40kg approx of dog food, some dog treats, kennel cleaner and a bag of bedding.

Good afternoon everyone,

We are still open and trying to stay positive in this stressful time and wish you and yours all well 🧡

We understand that plans are changing, and cancellations may be necessary but would like to assure you that we will not be charging for any of these cancellations.

As the schools are closing tomorrow, any key workers will be offered day care at an extra reduced rate – but unfortunately, we cannot take the children (OFSTED don’t take kindly to children in kennels for some reason)

We can schedule a pick up/drop off service in our fully equipped vehicle for those who are self-isolating to suit your and our needs, but please be aware that we are unable to have dogs from different homes in the car at the same time.

We will also be withholding from any prospective viewings until further notice.

Our small family business is still in full operation and we appreciate the continued support our wonderful clients give us, we will continue to take bookings for the future.

Please get in touch to hear about our reduced day care rates, or if you have any further queries or questions.

🐾📣 News: Professional dog walkers urged to sign new code of conduct launched by Stroud District Council

The Animal Welfare Service, Stroud District Council team has launched a Professional Dog Walkers’ Code of Conduct in response to the growing number of people providing this service.

The code will act as a framework of best practice for paid dog walkers, who can have their details added to the council’s website.

Dog owners will be able to check those businesses which have signed the code of conduct before employing a dog walker.

“We’ve noticed a significant rise in the number of professional dog walkers in the district, yet there are no regulations for this service,” said Alex Myrie, Stroud District Council’s Animal Welfare Officer.

“Most people see their dog as a member of the family, and should be able to know which dog walkers agrees to high standards of animal welfare.”

The comprehensive code covers a dog walker’s responsibilities to clearing up dog mess, having appropriate insurance and ensuring that vehicles used to transport dogs have adequate ventilation, among others.

Dog walkers who choose to sign up to the voluntary code of conduct can do so by completing a form available on the SDC website. Once they have agreed to the terms their details will be on public view on the council’s website.

New animal licensing laws were introduced in October last year which regulate cat and dog boarding, but do not cover dog walkers.

Simon Pickering, chair of Stroud District Council’s Environment Committee said: “People lead increasingly busy lives and rely on services like dog walkers to help them. I would urge every professional dog walker in the district to sign the code and ensure they follow it, and dog owners to check their dog walkers are on the list.”

Some of you may or may not be aware but the licensing system for ALL boarding kennels and Catteries has been updated. All kennels and Catteries will either be given a 3* or 5* rating dependent on what service they provide and facilities they offer. I am very proud to say that here at
Bassett Court Kennels we have been given a 5* RATING 😊🐶🐾☺️

Pad and I are very proud to receive this rating as we have only been running the kennels for 3 years.
All dogs that come into our care are looked after as if they are our own and we pride ourselves in making sure all the dogs have the best holiday they can with us whilst you have yours. 😎🌞

Please don't leave it to late to book your dog in with us as we hate to disappoint dogs and owners, as we only have limited space. School holidays get booked up the quickest.
