Puppy grooming & matting, new owners seem to get lots of misinformation
So let's go through some facts๐
โ๏ธ Your puppy should start learning the grooming process as soon as they have had their first vaccinations/can start going out. Usually around 14 weeks.
โ๏ธ Your puppy should have their first full groom before 6 months old to prevent matting (it is still important to introduce those short haired puppies to grooming too!).
โYou should NEVER wait for them to be over a year old for their first groom. This is a myth that lots of new owners are told by the breeders.
๐ฐ The average cost for a year's worth of grooming to ensure your pet doesn't become matted is between ยฃ450 - ยฃ650 depending on frequency, coat type, size and behaviour.
โ๏ธ You should be brushing your dog at a minimum of 3 times per week or more depending on their coat type & frequency of grooming.
If you are unsure of what tools you need or how often you should be brushing your puppyโs coat then please do not hesitate to ask.
๐ฅฐ Your groomer is here for your dog's health & wellness first. We will clip off matted dogs because we care more about their welfare than style.
