Life is a funny one, just as you start to figure things out it kicks ya in the shins, well in my case, the knee.

Via the power of love I was pushing through trying not to admit it was all a struggle. Since I've gone dark I've had confirmation that it is, and always will be, a struggle to stay active. After a recent MRI I've found out I've developed post traumatic arthritis in my left knee and connecting bones 😭

Not gonna lie, I had a feeling it was arthritis but until it was confirmed I was convincing myself I was okay but after speaking with the Dr, I have to avoid high impact exercise, such as walking dogs which pull hard on the lead 😭😭😭😭

As hard as it is, it's time to face the facts, I can't do dog training full time, I'll always be happy to give advice, I just can't take control anymore.

Therefore, while I'm planning on relocating and getting settled in, Bionic Dog Trainer is no longer in service.

I'll say it how it is, it's s**t.

I've had a great time meeting all of your dogs and just as I expected, there was NEVER a bad bone in their body's. Every "naughty" dog I've met was simply misunderstood or bored.

Even though I can't do the training to the same degree anymore I want you all to feel free to still ask me anything and keep up your progression. all of you who have reached out to me for help, keep me posted with updates, I'll still love to see how you're all getting on.

Your doggos have been and are just as importantant to me as Odie is, I hope you all keep up the progression. Everyone of you absolutely smashed your training, so thank you for giving me the chance to work with you, you're all legends! 🙌

It's been a while, things got a little off track and still fully haven't got both rails back on at the moment. There's just some things we have no control over and unfortunately health is one of them. But, it doesn't mean I'm not around, I'm just doing limited bits and pieces at the moment until I'm fully back on my tippy toes and get my hips back into shape.

If you're looking for a 121 session, I'm taking on 1 or 2 evening sessions a week at the moment (5:30pm onwards).

🐾🐶 Fleas, oh my! 🐾🐱

Hey there, pawsome friends! I wanted to share a little story about my adorable fur baby, Odie. Recently, when Odie went for his grooming session at the amazing Soder-Paws Dog Grooming, we discovered a few unwelcome guests—fleas! 😱

Now, let me tell you, Odie is a pampered pup! He gets frequent baths, our home is squeaky clean, and he receives lots of love. We even had him on anti-flea protection. So, you can imagine our surprise when those pesky critters showed up!

I spoke with Amy, Odie's groomer, and she shared some interesting insights. It turns out that some pet parents have been canceling their "Spot On" treatments from places like Pets at Home and vets for pets, as well as the Itch treatments. Instead, they're opting for tablet form treatments, believing they offer better protection against fleas. It's possible that fleas are becoming more immune to certain treatments. Isn't nature remarkable? 🌿

To be on the safe side, I may be going a little overboard with treating our house 😅, but hey, better safe than sorry, right? 😂 I wanted to pass on this useful info because I wouldn't want anyone else to go through this inconvenience. Let's keep our furry family members flea-free and happy! ❤️

Bions, I have some important news to share with you. I have recently taken on some contracted work,🥳, which means that my availability for 121 dog training sessions will be limited for the foreseeable future.

However, I am still offering one-on-one training sessions for your beloved pets! In my first year as a working dog trainer, I have successfully trained dogs of all breeds and sizes. My training methods are humane, positive and effective, and I will work with you to create a personalized training plan that suits your dog's unique needs.

This week, I have two slots available at any time up to 7pm on Thursday or Friday. I'll also be updating my availability for May next week, so keep an eye out for that!

My prices for 121 dog obedience training are as follows:

• Up to 1 hour of private 121 dog obedience training: £30 per session

• Advanced obedience/behaviour training: initial session = £20 / Training session = £40

The increase in the price of advanced training is due to the complexity of the training and the increased cost of living.

🎬 Re-Introducing Reggie, the youngest addition to the Bionic Dog Trainer family! 🐾🐶

Reggie was an 11-week-old blue staff puppy when I first met him. Since, he's been working hard with me on his training with his pawents keeping up with the advice I gave them. I'm excited to share his progress with all of you, and I can't wait for you to see his first training video coming to YouTube!

In the first video, I'll be showcasing some of the things we're going to be working on, and you'll get to see Reggie's impressive skills at such a young age 👌. As Reggie continues to grow, I'll be uploading more videos of his training progress right up into his adult stages.

Of course I'll be running commentary throughout the videos, explaining the things I'm doing, and extra highlighting the areas where I may have made mistakes. I believe that it's essential to be transparent in my training techniques and learn just as much from what we do wrong (most times instinctively) as well as to showcase the things that work well .

I'd like to introduce this very happy doggo, Cooper 🐶

Cooper is another lockdown dog who never got the chance to socialise properly with other dogs 😢 so now if he see's other dogs he gets very over excited and pulls hard on his lead.

So today we done a spot of training/walking to see how he responds to me on the lead while I watched his reactions and tried to figure out the best approach for him 🤔

Cooper is a smart dog and I have a very strong feeling that we're going to get this one sorted, we just need to figure out the best tools for you 😊

Can't wait to update with videos of his progress and I'm even more excited to see ya next week lad, let's go get em! 🐕🚶‍♀️

This is Pip, she's an 8 month old bichon frise and she's just adorable 🥰 we done a spot of training yesterday but mostly we were just getting to know each other in a new environment. She done really well and I can't wait to share with you how well she got on 😇 can't wait to see again soon, Pip 😊

My favourite bit of information from the course I completed 😊

A 2009 study looked at how dogs and human children at age two and three reacted to several pointing gestures. The findings were extremely interesting. Children that were two years old had the same performance as the dogs when it came to understanding the pointing gestures. The three-year-old children performed higher. This tells us that dogs demonstrate the same level of understanding as a two-year-old child.

Training your pet dog isn't about getting the perfect sit, perfect positions and cracking the whip when they get it wrong. A family dog doesn't need to be on guard 24/7.

Training your pet dog should be fun, you should both be building a bond of mutual understanding and having trust in each other.

I trained Odie through playing games with him, positive reinforcement and positive pumishments (not giving in to his wants and only rewarding when he does right).

Even though Odie is two training never finishes, it's only got easier as we understand each other via body language, tone of voice and vocal cues.

FACT: Well-trained dogs generally require fewer restrictions and therefore generally tend to be happier than untrained dogs. Pet owners are able to give them more independence as trained dogs are more trustable.

🎊Happy New Year!! (and 3 Days)🎉
What a year 2022 was, My son Curtis turned 13 😲🥰 quit my office job to pursue a life of dog training and even done some work in kennels. Met some brilliant dogs and a lot of new people. Made new friends, met up with old friends and even lost touch with some people.

2022 was my first full year after I discovered I'm Dyslexic with ADHD (that's why I'm always editing my posts 😅) - In all honesty, it's what pushed me to go for it, I realised I was never going to be able to handle working at a desk all day. I also realised this is what has given me the gift of being able to understand and read dogs🐶 just by looking at them and watching how they react to the world around them. I love it.

2022 has been so bitter sweet for me, but I'm thankful for that because without getting through the bitter, going through the sweet wouldn't be so, sweet.

I look forward to what 2023 has to bring to home, family and dog life, its going to be an exciting year 😁😁😁 May the bitter be better and the sweet be sweeter 🍾

Just over 2 weeks ago I started working at a a dog Kennel and day care. It's wasn't what I expected.
I knew there was going to be cleaning, tidying and a lot of work making sure the doggos were in a safe environment but what I didn't expect was the lack of consideration for the dogs and even more so the employees.
Most days, the majority of the dogs got out of their kennel twice a day for 10 minutes at a time, a few times I was told to take them out until they went to the toilet and put them back in their kennel.
This wasn't for a charity, people were paying for this service. The kennels were fully booked, probably over 150 dogs with around 6 employees doing all the work.
We were expected to stay later than the contracted hours unpaid to ensure all routines of the business was completed and it felt as if the happiness of the dogs was at the bottom of the priority list.
I actually got told off for giving the dogs too much attention.
Quality of the care did not matter, it was the quantity of money that did.
Once, there was a small dog shaking so much I felt compelled to sit with him and comfort him, when I informed staff, I was told "Yes, he's a nervous dog, just keep working and leave him be."
With so much work and it being freezing cold, My leg was hurting bad and when I asked if I could come up with ideas and routines to help make it easier for me, I was basically told no and had my 10 hour shifts changed to having no shifts due to my leg.
I also challenged the business motto compared to what was actually happening within the kennels and it wasn't well received.
The health and safety standards definitely are not up to scratch either. I didn't have a single safety demonstration regarding walking dogs, what to do if things go wrong.. I wasn't even told what to do if there was a fire. I wasn't given a contract and when I asked about this stuff, people shrugged it off 🤷🏻‍♂️
I decided that I didn't want to go back, which was clearly what the owner wanted anyway, I was asking too many questions I guess.

If you're going on holiday and thinking about putting your furmily members in a kennel or day care service, think twice, it's likely not everything they make it out to be.
