Pumpkin & Squash were kept entertained when they came if for neutering today!
Our large cat accommodation provides plenty of space for pets to buddy up and feel more relaxed, with their sibling or housemate.
We are one of the only Cat Friendly Gold Accredited practices locally and pride ourselves as being one of the oldest independent vets caring for your pets 🐱
Jack visited nurse Issy at our healthy weight clinic and we are SO proud of him.
He has reached his target - losing 3.25kg! That’s 20.3% of his starting weight! He was presented with a certificate and as you can see he was a very happy boy!!
#weigh2go Jack 👏🏼
When Rocky came in to collect his 6 month puppy development certificate from nurse Issy 😂
November is Antibiotic Amnesty Month
Antimicrobial resistance (AMR) is an increasing problem worldwide, affecting both human and animal health.
But what is AMR?
Antibiotics are essential when treating many conditions in animals and people, but bacteria are becoming resistant to many antibiotics that we use in human and veterinary medicine.
Antibiotic resistance occurs when bacteria develop defences that protect them from antibiotic medications, making treatment less effective.
An Antibiotics Amnesty is running throughout November 2024 to encourage clients to return unused and out-of-date antibiotic medications prescribed for your pets to your local veterinary practice.
This will allow correct and safe disposal of the antibiotic medications, which will avoid contamination of the environment and help prevent antimicrobial resistance due to inappropriate disposal.
Returning unused or out of date antibiotics will also help stop inappropriate antibiotic use.
To find out more about the campaign visit:

During November 2024 a National Antibiotic Amnesty is being held by vets, doctors and pharmacists. Our practice is taking part in the antibiotic amnesty and we are encouraging clients to return any unused or out of date antibiotics to us for safe disposal. #AntibioticAmnesty #onehealth
🧊 DOGS & ICE CUBES 🧊
Social media post are doing the rounds again, supposedly written by a vet. Always be wary of information that does not come directly from a named veterinary professional or body.
The post states pet owners must not give ice cubes to their dogs, this is FALSE information and it is worrying to see so many pet owners sharing this incorrect information.
As long as they are provided in moderation, and not as a replacement for constant access to clean, fresh, cool water, it is fine to offer to a HEALTHY dog ice cubes. Just as a healthy person would enjoy an ice lolly on a hot day.
IF you suspect your dog is suffering from heat stroke you should immediately start rapid cooling. Contrary to posts you may have seen on social media, this should not be done with luke warm water, but as much cold water as possible. Whether that it is from a nearby stream, lake, drinking bottles including chilled water - keep pouring. Not just paws, your dogs full body.
In an emergency situation, the current best available advice for treating heatstroke is to continuously pour cool/cold water over your dog, with as much air movement as possible for example a fan or air conditioning - however we recommend immediate veterinary advice and treatment. Do not use these methods to delay seeking professional help.
Please help us to share this correct information.

Did you know that May is Feline Hypertension month?
High blood pressure in cats, also known as feline hypertension, is a potentially life-threatening condition that occurs in around 1 in 5 cats over 9 years of age.
This disease is treatable with medication, but 82% of senior cats don't receive blood pressure checks.
For the whole of May we are offering 50% off our senior cat checks, just £26 and FREE for Pet Wellness Plan members. Alternatively you can book your cat into our Edenbridge Cat Clinic where for one day Vet Lucy and Nurse Issy will be holding a full day of senior cat checks.
Each cat will receive a nurse consultation, blood pressure check, urine test and nail clip!
You can send us a message on PetsApp or give the team a call to get your cat booked in.
