Feline Care is home to over 150 at any time, many of which are looking for new homes, some of which will spend the rest of their days living in peaceful sanctuary. When we set up our page in 2011 our parent charity was closing us down unless we could raise the £70,000 needed to buy our premises, in Norfolk, UK. For a small rescue it seemed an impossible task but after 14 hard weeks we mad

e it, thanks to the dedication of our volunteers and the generosity of the general public. Since then we have gone on to help many hundreds of cats find better and safer lives and we look forward to doing so until our feline friends no longer need us. Sadly we know that day will not be in any of our lifetimes, but we can hope! Feline Care was originally founded in 1997 by The Cat and Rabbit Rescue Centre charity, based in West Sussex. The CRRC operate a strict policy never to put a healthy animal to sleep which leads to a number of cats who take longer to re-home. Feline Care was founded to take on these 'unwanted' moggies and offer a forever-home to those with nowhere else to go. Over the years Feline Care has evolved as many of the nervous cats we take in have slowly learnt to love humans and have since found their own homes. Now we operate a regular rescue and rehoming sanctuary but with a difference because we will always aim to be here for those who need us most. Our attitude to euthanasia: we will only help our friends go for their final sleep when it is absolutely justified for their individual journey. We do not practice 'contextually justified' euthanasia as we believe we owe more than that to the cats in our care, euthanasia should never be for human convenience.

Mortys found himself a girlfriend called Sharon😺

After weeks of strict cage rest recovering from having his broken hind leg fixed, it is lovely to see Morty being able to be a kitten, socialise and have fun.

It was a scary moment for us all here when we first let him have more room to run around as we didn't want him to do something silly and undo all the work from the vets and weeks of recovery. But Morty is on his best behaviour😇

Your challenge for the afternoon is to find Millie's family please!

Found in a residential area near Mousehold Heath but her microchip was registered over a decade ago to an address near Wymondham. The mobile number is out of service but we'll keep trying the landline.

It's very possible her owners have moved or rehomed her, or she could have travelled by vehicle accidentally.

Tracey has been with us for over a year now and is often overlooked as she needs an indoor only home due to having luxating patellas in both hind legs.

What are luxating patellas? They are a condition where the knee cap pops in and out of place.

At the moment, Tracey does not need any surgical procedures to correct them. But we can not predict that she won't potentially need surgery in the future!

Due to this being a pre-existing medical condition, sadly, anything to do with the luxating patellas wouldn't be covered with pet insurance! This is where we would help to cover the fees for this if she needed to have the operation.

Yesterday, we had to say an unfortunate goodbye to one of our long-term residents, who recently got diagnosed with a very rare type of lymphoma😿

We've had the pleasure of Anna here for nearly 6 years! She came in as a feisty feral and always preferred to stay behind the scenes. Over the years, Anna accepted us in her space and even let us convince her to show her face on social media because everyone needed to see those amazing teeth!

Anna lived in our reception area and would always be the first one to offer her cosy bed to any new cats we introduced in there, whether they wanted to hide up for a few days or if they were also feral!

This isn't a post that we thought we'd be making just yet😭

We are still all shocked and coming to terms with the loss of dear little Nonny, who lost his battle so suddenly yesterday💔

Words just can't describe how we feel right now!

Nonny came into our care 214 days ago as a very poorly stray who was saved by the most kind-hearted people who came and visited him regularly while being in our care.

Nonny had a lot going on being hyperthyroid, having chronic kidney disease and lymphoma, but he was a fighter and thriving until suddenly yesterday he developed pulmonary edema (fluid on his lungs)😢

His little chirps, heart melting eyes, cuddles and his loving personality will be dearly missed by everyone that had the pleasure of knowing him here at our sanctuary and those who knows his face from our social media pages!
