We are both very experienced in all aspects of animal care. Louise has worked with cats, horses and dogs from a young age and has worked in the veterinary industry throughout her adult life in a nursing role and now in an admin role with a mobile vet. Kenny has provided Pop in and walking services for Urban Tails back when the business was born in 2017. We had stepped back from the business due to

injury and then when Lou’s dad was unwell she became a full time carer until he passed. Life takes you in unexpected directions but we are delighted to be able to provide our service again. Together we have four dogs and four cats that we adore. Three of our dogs are rescues and it has given us invaluable experience of dealing with nervous and anxious pooches. The services we currently offer are

• Pop in visits for cats, small furries and birds. Away for a few days? Working long hours? We are happy to visit for feeds, cage/litter tray cleaning, company and to administer medication.

• Pet transportation - available for moving animals safely, whether that is short or long distance.

• Pop in visits for dogs/puppies - we can visit to let your pooch out for toilet breaks during your working day or if you are out out for the evening. At the moment we are unable to offer dog walking services but aim to achieve this again in the future.

We love all animals here at Urban Tails, not just dogs and cats! Kenny and I both have the pleasure of helping care for some Clydesdale horses 🥰

They belong to my boss Jen. She is passionate about the conservation of this endangered breed. We currently have 4 mares and 2 foals on the farm. There is also a mare and gelding on their holidays in Stonehouse learning how to pull carts.

It is true when they say Clydesdales are gentle giants, they all have their own wee quirks and personalities. I just love being in their presence, the sheer size of them commands respect but their gentle manner makes them so special.

This coming week, three of the Clydies will be on their way to the World Clydesdale Show in Aberdeen! That leaves five in our care while their pals are away winning 🤞

Here they are in all their glory, I am sure you will agree they are just magnificent!

We thoroughly enjoy the game of Lulu roulette as she likes to take a swipe from the landing as we go downstairs 🤣

If you are looking for an alternative to a cattery then we can help!

We offer a pop in service, allowing your cat(s) to stay in the comfort and safety of their own home.

Our bespoke service allows you to tailor our visits, so that your pet receives exactly the care you wish for them.

We can also care for small furries and birds in your absence, empty bins, put bins out, receive packages, ensure home security, water the plants…we will even provide fresh milk, bread etc for your return!

It’s more than just feeding the cat!

Our pop in service includes and is not limited to…

• Cleaning litter trays

• Administering medication if required (incl injections)

• Ensuring the bin is out on the correct day

• Watering the plants

• Maintaining home security (using alarm systems, opening/closing blinds, putting lights
on, ensuring all doors/windows are locked etc)

• Feeding/cleaning any small furries or fish

• Daily updates if needed

• Fresh milk, bread and anything else you need on your return home.

You can relax on holiday knowing your pets and home are safe and secure.

📣 Urban Tails is back! 📣

Kenny and I are delighted to be offering pop in visits for cats, dogs and small furries 🐾

No walks yet due to my own work pattern but it is a service Kenny may provide in the future. For now, between us, we are able to do visits as and when required!

Another service we offer is pet transportation. Whether that is taking them a short distance to the vets etc or longer distances. Our trusty Kuga has helped move many rescue dogs over the last few years and more recently an injured fox!

We need fosters. Desperately.

As a rescue we believe dogs coming directly from shelters need time to adjust and settle allowing us to assess them and match them to the perfect forever home. This is where you come in.

Fosters are the much needed stepping stone for many of these dogs. Dogs that have spent a long time in the shelter, dogs that have never known love, felt the grass under their paws or felt freedom.

We need fosters that can start these poor souls off on the right track, teach them how to live in a home, teach them their basic commands, show them that people aren't so bad. It is hard work but so rewarding. You would literally be saving a life.
