🐾 Exciting News! Tomorrow, Dr. Vanessa will be speaking at the All Party Parliamentary Group for Dog Welfare Meeting on behalf of Broken Biscuits 🗣️✨

Every year, thousands of dogs across the UK lose their mobility due to injury, illness, or congenital conditions. 💔 But thanks to organizations like Broken Biscuits, these dogs are getting a second chance to run, play, and live active, happy lives! 🐕💨

For 14 years, Broken Biscuits has been:
✅ Restoring mobility with the right care and equipment
✅ Educating vets and the community about rehabilitation possibilities
✅ Proving that a life-changing injury doesn’t have to mean the end for our beloved pets

Dr. Vanessa will share how we can all support disabled pets in leading fulfilling, healthy lives. 🐶💙

Cold weather is here—keep your pets cozy and safe! 🐾✨

Swipe through for our top tips to keep your furry (and not-so-furry) friends healthy and happy this winter:

1️⃣ Protect those paws! Ice, salt, and snow can irritate or injure your pet’s paws—clean them after walks or try pet-safe booties. 🐾🧦

2️⃣ Limit outdoor time. Even pets with thick coats can get chilly. If they’re shivering or seem uncomfortable, bring them inside. 🌬️🐶

3️⃣ Keep small pets warm. Move cages or bedding away from drafts and add extra insulation for critters like rabbits or guinea pigs. 🐰🛏️

4️⃣ Cozy bedding is a must. Use soft blankets, heated beds, or pet-safe heating pads to keep them warm through the night. 🛌🐾

From the dramatic “FEED ME NOW” meow to the Oscar-worthy “I’m dying but not really” wail, they’ve absolutely mastered the art of keeping us guessing. 🎭

Here’s a fun fact for you: Cats don’t even bother meowing at other cats. Nope, that sweet little sound is reserved just for us humans! Over the years, they’ve adapted their meow to be the perfect tool to get exactly what they want—whether it’s dinner, snuggles, or just your undivided attention (usually at 3 a.m. 🙃).

PomPom has now reached the month we were advised to wait until to have her mobility re assessed . She has angular birth deformities in both rear legs and was unable to walk when she first came into our care.

We are delighted to update this sweet P's mobility has improved massively since arriving . She runs and moves without any need for a wheelchair . However we had success with one leg more so than the other . As she grew and gained muscle and weight the position of one leg has made a marked difference to her gait. Atm we are compensating her lean with padding to limit any banging on the floor , but feel it would be of benefit to refer her to see a orthopaedic expert who can guide us with what is best for her future .

Tomorrow we are driving her to London to be assessed by the mobility experts The Vet Station . Here we will learn what is possible and take it from there . Please join us in sending our best wishes for this consult for PomPom. Once we know what she will need we have a raffle ready ( A innopet deluxe comfort dog buggy :) ) to run to raise her medical costs as always any help with sharing those is much appreciated.

🎃👻 Halloween is TOMORROW, and we’re all set for a night of spooks and treats!

Let’s keep the fun safe for our furry friends with these simple tips:

🍬 Keep the candy out of reach! Chocolate and anything containing xylitol are dangerous for pets. If your little monster sneaks a treat, contact us immediately! 🧛‍♂️

💀 Check those IDs! With all the doorbell activity, pets might try to make a break for it. Double-check their tags and microchip details so they can be easily brought back if they venture out!

🕯️ Make those decorations pet-proof! Keep cords, small pieces, and lit candles (like those spooky jack-o-lanterns) out of paws’ reach. Safety first, spookiness second! 👻🎃

👗 Prioritize costume comfort! If your pet’s dressing up, make sure they can move, breathe, and see comfortably—and avoid any small parts that could look like chew toys. 😉

Let’s make this Halloween a paws-itively wonderful and safe one for our beloved pets! 🐾✨
