Visited the lovely and very communicative Kano today. Super deep processing and very rewarding to work with. Back in 3 months for his next session and booking his owner in too!

Half way through the IETA annual conference…held virtually! So far a diverse range of topics ranging from the findings of dissections performed by our amazing co-founder Dr. Ivana Ruddock-Lange, through Zoopharmacognosy and Equine behaviour to tonight’s offering of Equine Experential Learning.

Today was my second visit to a fabulous horse! He is quite defensive and protective…and very expressive. On my first visit, we were not even sure that I would be able to complete an entire ET session . With a lot of patience and backing off to allow him time to process what was happening, I did manage to do a full body balance and some additional moves….the neck area was a no go zone for the additional moves I wanted to include. What a difference on the second visit…..much less suspicious and areas that were a no entry last time, I was allowed in! It is like peeling back numerous layers…each time getting deeper….I look forward to the next session!

Today was an interesting day! First up was this fabulous Welsh pony...just had to get the photo of his square posture! He is a regular client so knows the drill well. Then off to see a newbie...the stunning Dude! First session with him...he is a horse that needs to trust you before opening himself up. With that in mind, we took it nice and slow, allowing him time to process and stepping back to give him space when needed. He makes it clear when you need to back off. Thrilled that he allowed a full body balance and a few additional areas of concern.

A while since I posted! I am still visiting horses to undertake ET sessions, with appropriate COVID precautions being observed. As yet I am unable to resume working on my human clients...hang on in there, at last there us some light at the end of the tunnel!

A very happy New Year to all my lovely clients and friends! A quick update on the current situation with regard to appointments - I am currently in Tier 4. I am still permitted to travel for work purposes so I can fulfill my current bookings - for the short term (til we are reviewed again) I am restricting appointments to my own area and not going into lower tier zones for the next couple of weeks at least. As per usual, all Covid precautions for my visits will still be in place. Thank you for understanding.

So this morning I had Bouncer's sheath cleaned and checked for beans and any other nasties that might be lurking. Beans can cause many problems for a horse and in some cases can result in lameness and colic. Thank you to British Equine Sheath Cleaning for coming out to us. This is what they found! And....I will post photos of even larger specimens that they have come across.

Having seen 5 horses yesterday, we now head into lockdown v2.0. In order to minimise non-essential travel, I have taken the decision to restrict appointments this month to those horses that require seeing on a “welfare” basis. I will contact all with appointments for November to discuss individually what is best. Anyone requiring appointments and not yet booked in, your dates will be from December onwards. Take care and stay safe!

PPE all ordered! Hopefully all will be delivered in next 2 weeks and then VHT sessions for humans can recommence. There will of course, have to be some changes made to accommodate the new requirements introduced to allow us to practise again. A separate post will be forthcoming and I will discuss these with you prior to any appointment.
