I love you so, so much.

This is my favorite photo of my beautiful wife. It’s from our wedding day in 2021 and it was the best day ever. People will talk about G's smile, and it was incredible—it would make you feel like you were the center of the universe. But what I love about this photo is how it captures her strength. She was a strong, beautiful, phenomenal woman who just loved everything and everyone.

Working in the equestrian world is not an easy life; there are a lot of knocks and dark days. But G would navigate this by throwing so much joy and love at every situation. She would get as much joy from having a Greggs tea on the way home from the gallops as she would teaching a client in the pouring rain or jumping and galloping around biggest courses in the world. It was just incredible to be at your side and feel this energy.

I’m so proud to be your husband.

I don’t want this to sound like a thank you speech, but there are some people that I’d like to acknowledge and thank. The team at Bicton, who were beyond words in their care for Debbie, Diana, and me in the immediate aftermath; Tim, Jonelle, and their beautiful kids for getting me through the first 24 hours; and the Wolf Pack for being there ever since. There have been so many incredible messages of support, and I’m sorry for not getting back to more of you, but please know that they have been read and are so appreciated.

Seeing the purple and white ribbons has been amazing. But on an even more basic level, when you’re out competing this weekend, please just smile at each other, don’t feel awkward about laughing, and above all, try and love everything and everyone.

Totally fed up with the weather! The poor organisers at Belsay had to cancel today, our favourite event of the year. This was George jumping the Newcomers yesterday, I’ve never seen rain like it !!!!

Fab trip down Musketeer Events yesterday. Smurf and George jumped a double clear and finished on there dressage score to finish 9th in the under 18’s novice section. Great to see so many friends and spend time with them. We were even blessed with Andy for a couple of days which was nice.

Bit of a late post. I was a nervous wreck on Friday as George and Smurf set out round the Novice under 18’s course at Eventing Spring Carnival, Thoresby Park. It was virtually the same course as the 2*. They were both fab and posted a double clear with time due to some parts of the ground been holding to finish 5th. Massive thankyou to my wing lady Faye Wagstaff, and all the support of Jane Sanderson and Sandy and Lizzie Baugh Eventing. And not forget Jonny Schuller for putting back his shoe on, and my amazing Sophie Louise Dawson for everything you do. Massive thank you to BEDE Events, all your team must be shattered but you pulled off an amazing weekend of eventing.

First event of the season for George and Smurf, excitable dressage, followed by one fence down and clear xc, Smurf is such a dude. Really happy to get his second Novice MER. Massive thank you BEDE events for all there hard work on the ground, and to Faye Wagstaff, Jane and Sandy Sanderson and Sophie Dawson. It’s just 6 weeks since my hip replacement.

If anyone requires stabling for Thorsby or Osberton in May, please contact me. I have 2 stables available on the Thursday night, 3 available Friday night and 3 available Saturday night. We are based just of the A1 and are only 10 mins away from both Thorsby and Osberton. Unfortunately I can only offer straw on rubber matting, all the stables are in a large barn. We are farmers so we have room for large HGV’s and can offer hook up and a outside toilet and shower area. Please message Helen on 07966455770. Thank you

First trip BS with Smurf, typical British weather blowing a gale. Smurf jumped a lovely double clear in the 1m and 1.10. Massive thank you to Lizzie Baugh Eventing for getting Smurf ready and taking him and looking after him. George was abit blurry eyed after a school party last night !!! Then Andy was telling me off for doing too much!! Next stop xc next weekend.

Well done George, for passing his B test riding yesterday. He just took the riding section as he has his mocks coming up next month, then next summer when he’s finished his exams he can concentrate on the care side. Massive well done everyone else. Omg what a shock this morning, Steve who works on the farm rang me at 5.30am to inform me we have an new arrival which was 16 days early. Sent me complete shock as I was on the way to the airport, but I’m so so grateful to Nicolla Bannister and Sophie Louise Dawson for sorting everything out and getting the vet. Also jo and Augus for loaning sky to us. She is a great brood mare. The beautiful c**t foal by JACONDRIK Caunton Manor Stud

After Rua had a couple of weeks off from Belsay he came out today in flying form to jump a double clear in the 1m class to win, and then went on to jump double clear in the 105cm to come second. Thanks to Speetley Equestrian Centre for managing to cope in this horrendous weather.

George and Rua first CCl 2* P short international, really happy they gained there MER. Very proud of George and Rua to see there they came from and George producing this pony from BE 90’s to this level. Started amazing in the dressage for a score of 28 which put them 2nd after dressge, the showjumping which is Rua week faze they rolled three un lucky poles round a beefy 1.10 course full of square oxers and then jumped clear xc with quite a lot of time due to the going and george forgetting to do a quick turn offer the ditch complex which cost time.

Busy but rewarding weekend at Norton Disney Equestrian. Saturday we had Happy who is owned by Jane Sanderson doing his fourth event where he was a super star and jumped double clear with a 30 dressage in the 90 to finish 4th with Ed. Rua 🦄 and George were 3rd 🥉 with a 30 dressage and double clear In the 100, which we were thrilled with. Evan was doing his first ever event and posted a 38 dressge ( green moments), clear sj and a green stop at the corner coming home. George had his first run of the season on 6 year old Ziggie who has just stepped up to 100. 33 dressge, rolled one pole sj,and then bless him he jumped big off the bank and george lost his strirrup and reins and steered him to the next fence and he knocked the flag and george thought his shoulders had gone through the flag and carried on jumped round the rest of the course and they gave him a technical elimination, poor Ziggie in his eyes he went clear. Big thankyou to all the helpers,fence judges and all Disney equestrian and Tiggas Saddlery Ltd - Ed’s loves his new smart boots.

Good to be back out again, first BE of the year. Massive thank you to all the stewards, helpers at Epworth Equestrian, the ground was perfect. Happy who is owned by Jane sanderson was a super star and jumped a double clear to finish 5th. Rua was fab in the dressage and got 27.5, rolled a couple poles and a clear xc with a few time as we are saving him for the pony trial next weekend.

Long trip today to managed to miss the rain. More winter training for Evan, Happy and Ziggie. Really pleased with how they all went especially Evan Ed’s new horse who has never evented before as he was a show jumper and hunted and also Happy who was a dressage horse 6 months ago. Ziggie will now have a holiday so George can Concentrate on Rua for the start of the season. Good to go with our fab mates lucy and Nicola. Missed today and Jane and sandy Sanderson

I’m looking for help on the yard please. 2 to 3 hours in a morning and 2 to 3 hours every other weekend. Any help would be appreciated even if you could only do 3 morning per week. It would include turning horses out, mucking out and general yard work and possible some riding. Good rate of pay. We are based just out side Retford. Two minutes off the A1 Thank you. After a fantastic wedding and a late night on Saturday, George and I headed down to his first Pony Trial. Shattered today 🤣🤣. Rua and George were super stars finishing 8th. He got a 28.3 dressage and was third after dressage, and then just rolled a couple of poles showjumping and clear round the xc with some massive tables. He got a lot of time which dropped him to 8th as our main aim was to try and get round clear to get a MER.
