Bloody weather
Totally fed up with the weather! The poor organisers at Belsay had to cancel today, our favourite event of the year. This was George jumping the Newcomers yesterday, I’ve never seen rain like it !!!!

First event of the season for George and Smurf, excitable dressage, followed by one fence down and clear xc, Smurf is such a dude. Really happy to get his second Novice MER. Massive thank you BEDE events for all there hard work on the ground, and to Faye Wagstaff, Jane and Sandy Sanderson and Sophie Dawson. It’s just 6 weeks since my hip replacement.
Prepping before our first event.
George and Smurf having a jump before our first event
Smurf
First trip BS with Smurf, typical British weather blowing a gale. Smurf jumped a lovely double clear in the 1m and 1.10. Massive thank you to Lizzie Baugh Eventing for getting Smurf ready and taking him and looking after him. George was abit blurry eyed after a school party last night !!! Then Andy was telling me off for doing too much!! Next stop xc next weekend.
With Rua and Ziggie sold to their lovely new homes, George and I went on a road trip to ireland in later November. Meet 5 year old Q or (Tesco) 🤣. George wants to call him Tesco.
George and Smurf @littledownhamht
Long and fab day. George and Smurf winning the under 18’s 100 section on a 27 dressage and double clear.
George and Smurf doing the 1* Guinea pig Test at Osberton.
George and Smurf doing the guinea pig 1 * test today at Osberton Horse Trials 2023. He was a very good boy and scored 30.2
George’s new Horse having a jump at Speetley Equestrian Centre today.
After Rua had a couple of weeks off from Belsay he came out today in flying form to jump a double clear in the 1m class to win, and then went on to jump double clear in the 105cm to come second. Thanks to Speetley Equestrian Centre for managing to cope in this horrendous weather.
George and Rua first CCl 2* P short international, really happy they gained there MER. Very proud of George and Rua to see there they came from and George producing this pony from BE 90’s to this level. Started amazing in the dressage for a score of 28 which put them 2nd after dressge, the showjumping which is Rua week faze they rolled three un lucky poles round a beefy 1.10 course full of square oxers and then jumped clear xc with quite a lot of time due to the going and george forgetting to do a quick turn offer the ditch complex which cost time.
Epworth BE 2023
Good to be back out again, first BE of the year. Massive thank you to all the stewards, helpers at Epworth Equestrian, the ground was perfect. Happy who is owned by Jane sanderson was a super star and jumped a double clear to finish 5th. Rua was fab in the dressage and got 27.5, rolled a couple poles and a clear xc with a few time as we are saving him for the pony trial next weekend.
Winter Training
Somerford park 2023
Long trip today to @somerfordparkofficial managed to miss the rain. More winter training for Evan, Happy and Ziggie. Really pleased with how they all went especially Evan Ed’s new horse who has never evented before as he was a show jumper and hunted and also Happy who was a dressage horse 6 months ago. Ziggie will now have a holiday so George can Concentrate on Rua for the start of the season. Good to go with our fab mates lucy and Nicola. Missed @immy_equine_ today and Jane and sandy Sanderson
After a fantastic wedding and a late night on Saturday, George and I headed down to his first Pony Trial. Shattered today 🤣🤣. Rua and George were super stars finishing 8th. He got a 28.3 dressage and was third after dressage, and then just rolled a couple of poles showjumping and clear round the xc with some massive tables. He got a lot of time which dropped him to 8th as our main aim was to try and get round clear to get a MER.
Just love this pony, we are going to miss her so much, she is just part of the family😍.
Really pleased for George and Rua today jumping there first clear at Elms farm junior BS show in the 1.10 foxhunter. He has been working really hard on his showjumping and fingers crossed all the hard work is now coming together.
George and Ziggie at there first BE training today at Epworth.
