Well here is my Best Pickle, first full groom since the end of August. Understandably, he wasn’t too keen on me working around his head/ears/neck but we took it slow and he did so well. He even let me pluck the fur from inside his ears. This doesn’t hurt them but you do need to be trained how to do this so please don’t try it at home. Not all dogs need it either. He also had quite a few matts due to the cone he had to wear for several weeks but I managed to keep some fur on his ears and I was able to save most of his beard thanks to a wonderful conditioner, detangling lotion and patience!

2 hours 45 minutes later, he obviously felt like a new dog. He definitely had a better aroma about him too! He was so happy afterwards, he had the zoomies and went and got all his favourite toys! Oh my heart heart. ❤️

Now my ‘best pickle’ no longer has to wear a cone 24/7, he is absolutely loving his little walks and all the sniffing that goes with it. He wasn’t much of a sniffer ‘before cone’ but he appears to be making up for it now! And, he comes home absolutely worn out!

He’s going to have a fairly drastic groom tomorrow and I will post before and after pics. 😳 During his recovery he wasn’t well enough to have a full groom and, having to wear a cone 24/7, he has developed a few matts around his head/neck/ears. He may need a woolly hat from 🎅!

💙Update💙

Look! My best pickle is now without the collar! On lead walks only for the time being but the relief is huge - normality returning. Now to slowly work on getting his confidence back off lead. I’m in the process of returning messages re grooming appointments so please bear with me as I’ve enjoyed a wee holiday in Gran Canaria. Oh my, it was wonderful and just what I needed! ☀️🍸 👙💙

Hello everyone, a little update on my best pickle. For the first time, he has gone to his toy basket and wanted to play. Makes my heart so happy - a sign that he is starting to feel better. Thank you to my daughter for the cute pictures of him. ❤️ I am taking bookings for a Christmas grooms so please send me a message. Before. During. After.

Just look at this beautiful little lady who came to see me this afternoon 😍. We had playtime, snack time and even a little nap time during her groom! It was her first visit to me and I think she was very happy judging by her wagging tail and all the kisses I got!

💙Update💙

I am so relieved to report that nearly 5 weeks in, my best pickle’s recovery is now heading in the right direction. Although he still has a way to go, it is looking positive - the antibiotics are working, the meds are keeping him comfortable and help to settle him at night. The ‘cone of shame’ still has to be worn 24/7 and he’ll have to continue wearing it for a good few more weeks yet.

Firstly, I would like to apologise for my recent quietness on here.

Last Monday my ‘Best Pickle’ was involved in a dog attack resulting in him having to have surgery. His recovery will take time but for the moment I need to keep a close eye on him.

Please, don’t ask me for any details as the matter is in the hands of the police.

Finally, thank you all in advance for your patience and kindness. I will be in touch as soon as I am in a position to resume grooming your gorgeous dogs. I am hoping it will only be for a few weeks, but I will keep you all posted.
