Notice to customers
Really sorry to have to do this but unless pre arranged or a monthly account, payment for shoeing is expected on the day of shoeing.
Currently I’m owed a lot of money and the running costs of my buisness remains the same. I’m currently spending my own time which I want to spend with my family keeping track of it all and chasing which isn’t fair.
The majority of my customers are fantastic so I don’t want to put my prices up as that’s not fair on them so the only solution I could come up with was from now on anything that isn’t discussed first will be liable to a 10% charge if not payed within 24 hours of work being carried out.
I appreciate it’s a tricky time of year and I’m always happy to help if it’s discussed before the appointment.
Thanks for the ongoing custom

This horse has had a few lameness issues which are due to his check ligament being inflamed so I applied 3rd Millennium 5D pads with dental impression material as packing under the pad
Fingers crossed we are now on the road to recovery
it’s so nice having so many options to pick from and a lot of the remedial options are in constant stock in the truck to ensure I can get on top of any issues straight away

Interesting case of the day, this shire is a new horse to my round and had been suffering with lameness. The vet then did x rays which showed the soles are extremely thin, after a chat with the vet and owner on the phone we decided to meet up there and apply glue on coils, this is a really cost effective way to get the soles off the floor which will take away immediate pain and allow the foot to grow correctly again
Fingers crossed this will be a good start to the recovery.
Massive Thankyou to Jeff Newnham for delivering the coils to me on a Sunday evening.

This is a mature horse at Little bramley farm horse sanctuary which has been known to be lame after being trimmed.
He has a deviated knee and fetlock which causes him to grow unlevel so by trimming him level causes lameness.
In the before video you can see he lands heavily lateral (outside) first so I trim leaving the inside (medial) heel high and heavily roll the outside and then watch us walk up again where you can see in the after video he lands a lot more level which keeps him sound.
It’s amazing how much you can learn from taking a little bit of time watching a horse move.

On a side note please like and follow little bramleys page, Ive worked for them for the past 5 years and what they do is nothing short of amazing, such an incredible place and people.

A little bit of extra heel support for this competition horse
This horse showed signs of intermittent mild lameness so I used a side clipped shoe to bring the break over back, I then run the fuller down each heel twice creating the groves which widens the section to give optimum heel support, the inside heel is fitted tight to the heel and i gave extra lateral support.
Seems to have done the trick as the horse is now sound and going well again
It’s all about listening to the owner and other professionals which look at the horse to create an appropriate shoeing plan to get the best results

Interesting case I’ve dealt with for the past few weeks
This horse has a condition called canker which is caused by the particularly wet winter we have had, it’s a bacterial infection of the frog which can be very tricky to treat.
With a lot of regular check ups and chats with the vet and customer we decided to try copper sulphate and bandage it up which gets changed every 2 to 3 days by the owner. Luckily the foot is healing nicely now and we are on the right track.

On another note, due to a customer moving out the area I have a few spaces available, if your interested please feel free to get in touch to discuss your needs

A very handy bit of kit every yard should have incase of the dreaded emergency of a twisted or lose shoe.
It can save a lot of stress on the horse and owner making the removal a lot safer
