Spotted: a new rare breed, DoughnutDog🍩!
Mia’s owners opted for this comfortable collar alternative to prevent her from interfering with her surgical wound during her recovery at home. Although not appropriate for every surgical case, these collars (and bodysuits) are definitley more popular than the traditional Elizabethan style plastic buster collar for our furry friends.🐾

Our talented and beautiful vet Burcu is going off on maternity leave! We will of course miss her dearly, but we are all very excited for a healthy and happy baby boy. Burcu and her husband, who is our other vet, Cem, are so grateful for the support received during their first time being parents!🩵👶🏻💙

Dexter was a hungry boy when he woke up after his castration procedure, we don’t blame him as he didn’t have any breakfast!🍴

It is important that our patients eat after surgery, as this kickstarts their gut motility again, which in turn aids healing by absorbing nutrients from food. We always ask if your pet is on a special diet or have any allergies when you drop them off with us in the morning, and if your pet is a fussy eater, it is wise to bring something from home that you know they’ll be tempted by.🤤

Handsome rescue dog Buddy was all smiles when he came to see us to check up an issue with his anal glands, which we all know is not the nicest thing to have checked at the vets, but he was the bestest boy!🤎

Following our advice, Buddy’s mum altered his diet to primarily fish based dog food, got his weight down, and increased his intake of fibre. This has worked just as hoped, he is no longer agitated by his anal glands and is a noticably happier doggo. Hooray!🥳

Meet Daisy, 5 months old and full of beans! She did her best “sit” and “paw” for us when she popped in to be weighed for her monthly flea & worming treatment.😍

As puppies have such a rapid growth rate during the first 12 months of their lives, it is important that their monthly preventative treatments are dosed accurately. This also helps puppies be less anxious about coming to the vets when they are older, as at the monthly visits they receive lots of fuss and treats from our team.🥰

Daisy is also a member of our HealthyPetClub™️ so all of her flea, worming, vaccinations, nail clips, and 6-monthly nurse health checks are covered by one simple subscription.🥳

🥵🌞How hot is too hot for a dog walk?🥵🌞

Each dog is different, for example Brachycephalic (flat faced), elderly or young, excitable dogs are more at risk of heat stroke, but the below shows a general rule of thumb in terms of care needed when walking your dog in hot weather.

⚠️Remember, your dog missing a walk or an event is not the end of the world, if it could save their life.

🌾Poor Bella came to see us today after not one but two grass seeds (foxtails) had managed to work their way down into her ear canal!

The owner spotted that something wasn't quite right and her ear was very painful to the touch.

Delicate removal under sedation was required for poor Bella. 💙

☹️ These grass seeds can cause a lot of discomfort to your dog. With their sharp and pointy design, they can bury their way into pretty much anywhere given the opportunity. Most commonly in-between digits of the paws so it's always a good idea to inspect your dogs feet after they have been in grassy areas.

Signs to look out for are excessive head shaking or scratching at the ears and sometimes holding their heads to one side.
