Gorgeous Mollie came to have her neutering procedure done with us, and as you can see from these photos, she was incredibly relaxed from the moment she arrived!😻
We understand that vet visits can be anxiety-inducing for our patients, so we undertake special measures to ease this stress as much as possible. Mollie was a little star throughout the day, and her recovery/ healing so far has been equally impressive.⭐️

In our attempt to apologise for being quiet with posting to our page recently, here’s the cutest little polar bear pup, Sasha, to brighten your screens!🤍 Sasha came to see us for her health check, 2nd vaccinations, flea and worming treatments, and to check that her microchip was all ok.🩺

We are more than happy to check microchip details in practice, however we cannot make any edits or adjustments to them. It is so important for pet parents to ensure the correct contact details are saved on their pet’s microchips, to be able to be reunited smoothly if they should wander too far!🗺️🧭

Earlier this week, we had very handsome Harry stay with us for the day for a dental procedure, as we discovered on a recent routine health check that he had fractured one of his big canine teeth.🦷

Even though he was eating normally and showing no outward signs of oral discomfort, his mum understood the best way to prevent this damaged tooth from becoming a problem was to get it removed. Harry’s general anaesthetic and recovery was smooth, and he only has to eat soft food for 7-10 days before he can go back to his favourite dry kibble.🦁

We are signing off for the weekend, but our sister practice, Brook House Veterinary Centre in Southampton are open between 8:30-5 tomorrow, should your pets require any veterinary assistance.🩺

🚨The Animal Medicines Amnesty🚨
We all play a role to responsibly dispose of veterinary medicines to protect pet and human wellbeing, and the health of the environment.🌎 That’s why we are taking part in The Animal Medicines Amnesty to make sure unused medicines are disposed of safely.

How can clients get involved? Simply check if you have any out-of-date or unused pet medications at home. If so, just return them to us to ensure the correct disposal method. Pet medicines should never be disposed of in household waste as this can contaminate the environment. They shouldn’t be kept for future use on pets either as once past their manufactured expiry date, they are not deemed safe for use anymore.

Spotted: a new rare breed, DoughnutDog🍩!
Mia’s owners opted for this comfortable collar alternative to prevent her from interfering with her surgical wound during her recovery at home. Although not appropriate for every surgical case, these collars (and bodysuits) are definitley more popular than the traditional Elizabethan style plastic buster collar for our furry friends.🐾

Dexter was a hungry boy when he woke up after his castration procedure, we don’t blame him as he didn’t have any breakfast!🍴

It is important that our patients eat after surgery, as this kickstarts their gut motility again, which in turn aids healing by absorbing nutrients from food. We always ask if your pet is on a special diet or have any allergies when you drop them off with us in the morning, and if your pet is a fussy eater, it is wise to bring something from home that you know they’ll be tempted by.🤤

Handsome rescue dog Buddy was all smiles when he came to see us to check up an issue with his a**l glands, which we all know is not the nicest thing to have checked at the vets, but he was the bestest boy!🤎

Following our advice, Buddy’s mum altered his diet to primarily fish based dog food, got his weight down, and increased his intake of fibre. This has worked just as hoped, he is no longer agitated by his a**l glands and is a noticably happier doggo. Hooray!🥳

Meet Daisy, 5 months old and full of beans! She did her best “sit” and “paw” for us when she popped in to be weighed for her monthly flea & worming treatment.😍

As puppies have such a rapid growth rate during the first 12 months of their lives, it is important that their monthly preventative treatments are dosed accurately. This also helps puppies be less anxious about coming to the vets when they are older, as at the monthly visits they receive lots of fuss and treats from our team.🥰

Daisy is also a member of our HealthyPetClub™️ so all of her flea, worming, vaccinations, nail clips, and 6-monthly nurse health checks are covered by one simple subscription.🥳
