Cuckoo Woods Licensed Breeders We’ve been powering up the clicker today 🔋 First session of creating a conditioned response and all puppies have done very well, especially as away from the safety of their pen at only 4 weeks old 🙂 5 mins with each puppy & all videos sent to their families 🥰 (This video is sped up) - The sound from a clicker is processed in a different part of the brain than spoken words. The click goes directly to the instinctive, reflexive part of the brain instead of having to go to the thinking part -

Cuckoo Woods Licensed Breeders Our puppies are now in week one of their socialisation period, this is a huge window of opportunity for breeders to provide as many positive experiences with new things as possible. Instead of cluttering their pen with loads of toys, when they need the space to find their feet, it is far more beneficial to put a couple in and then expose them to one new thing each day And as you can see at the end of the video, toilet training is going very well at 3.5 weeks 🙂

Cuckoo Woods Licensed Breeders For now, our puppies have no true sense of fear, fear is a useless emotion until they can get up and run away, so from when they start to be able to hear and see until they are 5 weeks old , breeders have a huge window of opportunity Habituation recordings in the whelping box for an hour each day (it sounds a lot louder on the video) Fireworks, babies crying, dogs barking, door bell, cars, birds etc 👂 All part of the new programme we will now be following with every litter 🙂
