Our service was born out of personal experience. As life long pet owners we had the difficult decision to have one of our dogs, Skipper, put to sleep at the vets. We were offered various alternatives to how we would like his remains dealt with. We chose individual cremation with his ashes returned. Whilst this sounded the best option for us, the downside of this was that Skipper would need to be f
rozen and stored at the vets, awaiting a weekly collection service where he would be collected with other pets and clinical waste and taken to a large disposal facility. Although we are not saying this is wrong, we just thought there could be a better, more sympathetic way for people that wanted a more dignified service for their pets. Why I started Pet Undertakers? it was my personal experience of pet loss that got this whole thing started. I feel passionate about wanting to offer a unique, dignified service for those touched by tragedy of losing their loyal, much loved family members. I can personally assure you that I will give the utmost care and attention to your beloved pet. When your pet has passed away, on your instruction, we will arrange immediate collection either from your home or veterinary practice (this negates the need for the frozen storage process at your vet’s). The service will be carried out in its entirety by Mark and his team in our specially designed pet private ambulance
We will then take your pet directly to our chapel of rest then the next day to our local pet crematorium where we will personally carry out their individual cremation before returning your pets ashes directly to you or you may want to come to our new chapel of rest. The crematorium is a highly regarded specialist Pet Crematorium, guaranteeing that your pet will be personally looked after at all times and you rest assured, that the ashes returned are exclusively those of your pet. This gives a brief idea of the basic service we offer, although tailoring it to your specific needs as a fundamental part of our service and we are here to offer whatever you need – whenever you may need it.
