For Doggy Day Care and Home Boarding, doggies must be fully vaccinated (DHP every 3 years, L4 annually and kennel Cough annually) You must show proof of worming and flea treatments and dates administered. All doggies in my care have to wear ID tags with my details on. (Please note I use collars that are washable and get washed after each use). These are requirements from the Monmouthshire Licence for Dog Home Boarding/Day Care.
We know that your pets are part of your family so at Contented Pets we treat your fur babies as part of our family. Your doggies are allowed on our furniture and we provide clean dog baskets and have them dotted around the house so they can settle where ever they feel most comfy. I have been using Orvis dog beds more than 10 years, all the dogs love them.
A large enclosed secure garden for your doggies to play in and explore around the flower beds and trees. There is always something to keep them entertained even if it is to squirrel chase up and down trees. We have play time in the garden with various dog toys and balls all supervised.
When its wet we use dog puzzles with treats indoors. Snuffle Balls can be loaded with treats and on occasions a whole meal can be given in one. Walks are fantastic straight from the garden. We have access to the canal and the cycle track from our home. ASWe vary our walks throughout the day so doggies don’t get board.
I make snuffle balls and mats to order.
At Contented Pets I like to know I am up to date with the dog world.
I am Dog First Aid trained and have hosted a Dog First Aid Course so that more of my clients and friends as well as Team Members can keep up to date and learn what to do in an emergency.
March 2020 we found ourselves in the Coronavirus pandemic. I have completed a Covid-19 certified Home Boarding and dog walking certificate. Completed some online seminars and training whilst my business has been closed.
We come across doggies with issues and to try to understand how to work with these dogs I have attended Amber Baston’s seminar: What’s up Dog? Understanding why a dog does certain things. Extremely interesting. If you ever have the opportunity to attend it is well worth it.
Attended Tellington Ttouch for Dogs. I have been on Level 1 Workshop. I did an online course a few years ago and felt I wanted to have some hands on experience and use it on one of my own dogs who has been struggling of late due to a knee operation and for me to manage his pain. ACE Free Work (Animal Centered Education). Dog Massage (I am only legally allowed to practice massage on my own dogs) I have completed From the hound up online workshop which covered Observations, Anatomy, movement, conformation, Ttouch/bodywork and free work. This is so valuable and I now feel this is the way my I want my business to grow.
Dog Play and Behaviour, was one of the first seminars I attended. It was a real eye opener to read dogs body language and their eye contact with other dogs. As I offer Dog Home Boarding and Day Care on a small scale it has been invaluable to my business and understanding dogs behaviour. It also helps when out on walks too.
I am a member of Doglaw SOS. Also hosted and attended: What every responsible dog owner needs to know. I keep up to date with the law and it is changing all the time and locally the Council changes their laws in many ways. From dog fouling fines and where or where not you can walk your dogs on and off lead.
These are just a few of the courses and seminars I have attended
Cats and small animals stay in their own home and we pop in to visit them when you are away. We give them strokes and cuddles and brushes if needed. Open and close curtains and move post for you. Water plants and pots in the garden on request. We even put your rubbish out for you.
