It'll be filled with gorgeous creations from local crafters lots of different very lovingly handmade Christmas gifts.

I'm also guilty of telling people, especially those that are nervous about first holding snakes. It's much easier to just say they're just 'smelling' you with their tongue they're not tasting you (or sizing you up) to eat you...

Of course snakes can smell through their nostrils they can breathe with them too but they also 'taste' take in information through their tongues to help them understand their surroundings hence the tongue flicking.

It's a chilly 10° very wet day 🌧 in the beautiful Welsh Valleys, here's Shanksy soaking in what will be the cooler side of the boas room. I took the pictures before misting this morning and it's been 2 days since I last misted, the plastic sheeting on the walls is really working 🙂 Much more moss needed and a surround for their 'laguna Bethcar' bath unit but it continues to develop weekly and the boas at least are able to move freely around the room again 🐍

Suitable hiding places are essential for a happy healthy reptile. Large or small all reptiles feel safer with appropriate hiding spots without they can easily end up stressed leading to health problems.
Reptiles prefer to be and feel more secure squeezed tightly (snugly) up against surface whilst hiding this is known as positive thigmotactic behaviour, reptiles do really need lots of tight spaces to squeeze into should they want.
Using hides/caves not only provides necessary shelter for your reptile but also creates microclimates within their enclosure that are slightly cooler or warmer and more humid. Cool spots are as important as hot spots in order for your reptile to thermoregulate comfortably.
HerpMania hides are spacious, smooth on the inside with a rough lumpy exterior which looks natural and also provides a rough surface to relieve that itch whilst shedding.
HerpMania hides are made using 100%GRP light weight and robust, because of the isophallic gel coat they're really easy to clean and can be used in both dry and wet (aquariums, ponds etc.) settings.

Thank you Caffè Della Citta for having me and my amazing animals again, thank you to everyone that attended your support is greatly appreciated the animals all settled back into their enclosures afterwards and I had a fabulous time.

The children were great; they listened carefully to instructions regarding handling the animals and they were full of really good questions as well as random reptile and invertebrate facts they were firing away at me.

A wonderful afternoon with some more herp-tastic handling at the Caffe Della Citta today. It was the fearless Ori's 6th birthday party 🎂🎉 Modesty the royal beauty, Reggie my Bosc monitor, The Snail 🐌 and some of the smaller invertebrates came over to celebrate with the birthday boy and all his friends.
