Anyone's chi suffer from luxating patella?

I've seen it be popped back in again and just want to see I'm doing it right.
I've done it to a foster before but he suffered all the time so it was a quick stretch and that was him, plus it was quite loose, this isn't

I just want to check it's not that before we go to the vets, plus there's probs a bit of a wait

I cant cope with the sadness.
