New guy on the block, everyone meet Fred aka “Lion King” 🤩🦁🦄

Fred will be our staff horse to take out hacks but he will be looking for a sharer or two once he’s all settled in to keep him ticking over. Available from January onwards & is for experienced riders only and an assessment lesson will be mandatory before.

Morning team!

Weather is looking pretty terrible today and a yellow warning meaning we will unfortunately have to cancel all services today. The only positive of this is it will probably be the last time we have to cancel for bad weather as we will be indoors at the new place (yipeee)!!!

Tomorrow is looking fine so far so is currently still going ahead / will update in the morning if anything changes.

Please let us know an alternative date to change todays session to asap, this rescheduled date will be at our new venue!

✨🦄 NEW LIVERY YARD OPENING🦄✨
*we have 10 spaces for livery*

Our values are predominately based on care and welfare of our ponies and horses , we always strive for excellence and pride ourselves on our fun,friendly welcoming team spirit! We are hosting an open day on December 14th for people to come and meet the team of humans and ponies & have a wee nosy to see if we are what you have been looking for (plus there’s cake and coffee!)

We are based currently in Balerno and moving into our new Center on the 1st of December - all services starting on 16th December - and this will be on the back road behind Penicuik, moors road then onto deanfoot road. EH46 postcode - will give full address once we have everything set up and moved in and to serious enquirers only.

Part livery is Monday to Friday (owners do own at weekend with option to go full if away) and full livery is 7 days, includes;

- Morning feed and check
- Rug change
- Turn out
- Muck/hay or haylegde/ re-make feeds
- Poo pick paddock
- Bring in
- Wash legs (if needed) / pick out feet
- Rug change
- Evening feed and check

Facility’s;

-12x14 ft monarch stables with rubber matting and drainage
-40x80 floodlit all weather arena
- Jumps/poles
- Hot wash bay
- Solarium
- Key locked individual storage cupboard
- Cctv
- Owner live on site
- Secure trailer or lorry parking (additional cost to farmer £5pm)
-13 acres of electric fenced grazing (mixed or individual paddocks)
- 100 acre on farm hacking, very quiet country road hacking and beautiful Forrest hacking
- clinics and competitions will be held so plenty training opportunity’s

Selling my new comp gear I bought at Blair as both are too small, only realised when I got home and couldn’t return them to Ayr as I’ve never had time and totally forgot till now!

Both helmet and boots are still in boxes and only been tried on not worn so brand new;

Helmet - black Stella riding hat size 53-55 adjustable, bought for £199 selling for £170

Boots - Ariat Palisade Uk 6 medium width, bought for £499 and selling for £450

Our amazing new yard 🤩

Had people asking to see the place which is only fair if your coming with us , you want to see where your going so thought I would make a wee mini update post (as we haven’t actually moved in yet) date will be 1st of December to collect keys & will make a proper advertising post at the time but here are just some quick snaps I took on viewing! Good morning Team!
✨ business update for V&C Equestrian ✨

After winning horsescotland Awards 2024 for club of the year we have decided it’s time to level up on the facility’s and grow even more and will be opening up a new livery yard.
We are just so excited to have such basic things like electricity or running water/ a hose let alone all the other amazing facility’s the new yard has to offer!!

As you all know we have built our current yard from the ground up with our bare hands so it’s a very special place for us and we love it dearly - the grass pallet arena, stables, shelter, tie up area, sheds etc and it’s been an amazing , a huge learning curve but it’s time to take this exciting step in the right direction. Forever growing and developing to have the best facility’s for our kids to learn and grow!

Our new yard will be just behind Penicuik on the Moors Road or can come in on the biggar road from Hillend - we have basically flipped over the pentlands to the other side from balerno - so it now opens a whole new catchment of pony loving kids to join & we would be delighted to welcome some new members.

NEW YARD:
🦄 A NEW 15 block stable yard will be added meaning we will have space for 10 livery’s , part & full livery provided. Stables are 12x14ft and all rubber matted/drainage.
🦄 40x80m floodlit all weather surface arena
🦄 Hosting competitions and clinics all year round
🦄 Solarium and hot wash bay
🦄 13 acres of newly fenced turnout
🦄 Arena hire available

We will host an open day once we are all moved in for people to come and meet the team of humans & equines here at V&C as well as having a nosy about to see if we are what you have been looking for.

The new place will host all riding lessons, clinics, livery, weekend pony club/horsemanship , birthday party’s , pony camp days and stable management and our CURRENT YARD; will be mainly for hacks, stable management , youngsters backing&breaking and TinyTots.

The move will take place 1st December so will be taking bookings for all kids services from 16th December onwards.

For anyone interested in livery please DM me for prices and viewings and move in date will be 9th December.

**We have tried to speak to all club members with December bookings - if we haven’t managed to catch you yet please message me but the bookings will be honoured! **

Fully licensed, insured, qualified & ABRS+ APPROVED riding school, all staff PVG/disclosure Scotland.
