🌈 Last month, Coco the Staffie, one of our favorite regular patients passed away after diagnosis of pyometra and metastatic mammary cancer. She was 16 years old. Over the many years, she was always a star patient for letting the students examine her and brought a smile to everyone's faces when she visited the clinic.

Tonight we reunited Coco with her mums.

We would like to take this opportunity to remind you of all the services we offer here at Kintra Vet 🐾

As you know we are a mobile service meaning we can treat your pet(s) in the comfort of their own home. This doesn’t mean we do less, we can do many things at home such as ultrasound, blood testing, blood pressure monitoring and so on.

We also have our cabin which has our office, prep area, surgical suite and in house laboratory. There are many procedures we are able to do including routine,non-routine surgery and dental procedures.

As part of our at home service we are able to provide routine, geriatric, end of life care and euthanasia.

It can be particularly stressful for ill and older pets to go to a practice for treatment, not to mention the difficulties faced by owners who may not have transport or may be disabled. Maybe your pet is particularly nervous and would be more at ease at home for their care?

At Kintra we have been privileged during covid and up until now to be able accommodate your beloved pets to be at home, in the place they are most comfortable, in their final moments. When so many practices couldn’t allow owners to be with their pets because of strict regulations and protocols.

Kintra Vet is a small independent practice and we pride ourselves in having that personal touch. As a team of only six, we do our best to really get to know our patients and their humans which we feel creates a good relationship built on trust and friendship.

⚠️ 𝗕𝗹𝘂𝗲/𝗚𝗿𝗲𝗲𝗻 𝗔𝗹𝗴𝗮𝗲 𝗪𝗮𝗿𝗻𝗶𝗻𝗴 ⚠️

Look out for and keep dogs away from a blue-green scum that appears on the surface of water such as rivers, lakes and ponds, it usually appears after a warm spell.

Sadly, exposure to toxic blue-green algae can be fatal and can also cause long term health problems in dogs that survive after drinking or swimming in algae-contaminated water.

If you suspect your dog has had contact with blue-green algae, please call your local Clyde Vet Group branch immediately.

If your dog shows any of the below symptoms after drinking from, swimming or paddling in water, contact us and let us know.

🚱 Vomiting/being sick
🚱 Diarrhoea
🚱 Disorientation/confusion/loss of balance
🚱 Drooling
🚱 Breathing difficulties
🚱 Seizures/fitting/tremors
🚱 Weakness/collapse/unconsciousness
