Hi everybunny, I hope you and all your precious furry ones are all well 🐰❤️

It's been a while I know, Daisy and Dougal are both very well and still have a firm paw over their slaves and the running of their bunny abode.

I do however, have to being you the sad news that as a charity, we are no longer able to continue.
We have applied for, and now been given clearance from OSCR to dissolve our wee charity.

I'm quite sad really as I would've loved to have kept it going on some level.
Unfortunately, my efforts to try to keep it as an ongoing organisation were in vain. We couldn't find anyone who was potentially interested or likewise, able to / have the time to take over it all.

My own circumstances have changed so much over past few years I no longer have the time, it's defo not a one person job! I guess that's been pretty obvious with the long absence on our FB etc.

As the terms of Dissolving the charity, any funds leftover were to go to RWAF. It sadly wasn't much, but every little helps. I am tying up all the loose ends, closing down our funding services, bank accounts and various other bits n bobs.

Our committee member Rhona has done such bunderful work with The Scottish Parliament's Animal Welfare committee, highlighting the need for rabbit welfare standard housing to be made 'legal' to reflect the standards set out on the Scottish Government's Rabbit Welfare Guidance 2018. No easy task!

Rhona has been working alongside Rae at RWAF, and both will keep on Rabbiting On to try via both the Scottish Government and Parliament and find a way forward to making these improvements a reality.

I can not thank you all enough for your continued support over the years, it is through that that rabbits are now being heard and improvements have been made by including their welfare through legislation in Scotland, albeit slowly.

Also, with your support we were able to provide care for several bunnies in dire need over the years and provide them with a hoppy home to live out their precious wee lives. For that I am eternally grateful.

I'll leave the page up for now, there's so many happy memories of our furry friends from over the years, I would hate to just delete it all. Furthermore, I hope the advice, links and various other posts will act as a point of refence towards the betterment of welfare and husbandry for those looking to improve the lives and care of their furry ones.

For now, take care and keep up the good work from each and all by taking whatever actions you can. Even the smallest hops make for progress. 🐰❤️

Well, that didn't even last a week!
Daisy (the destroyer) and norty Dougal bun have now found themselves with an indefinite bedroom ban after several early morning, noisey bunstructive carpet chewing incidents 😠

Sad to say our adorable wee fluffer, Little Ms Maissie passed away suddenly on Thursday evening. 😢

We suspect she had some kind of heart issue, she was perfectly fine in the morning before I left for work, but noticed early evening something wasn't quite right. She seemed a little disoriented and unwilling to move much but was still munching on some greens and dried herbs.

The journey to the vet took its toll and she passed away in my arms 5 mins away from medical help. She was just a couple of weeks short of her 9 yr birthday.

Such a sweet, feisty wee soul who caused so much stress with her ongoing tummy issues, no thanks to bad breeding and her silly, long angora type fur which had to be regularly trimmed to help limit fur blockages.

I'll miss my wee baby so much, she was a very big part of my life these past years.

Daisy's morning routine, every time I take the protective pen away from around the sofa she goes a bit crazy. 🙃🐰
It's all a big, binkying game to this norty girl who's been banned from being left un-supervised with the sofa, due to her penchant for destroying couches and cushions.
Every chance she gets she'll have a dig at the cushions etc and I've got to shoo her away before she hops back up for more, now I rarely get a minutes peace to make my coffee without interuption 🐰🤣❤

Apologies for the lack of activity of late, but we've been very busy bunnies redecorating our warren, if only to the disapproval of the furry masters! The poor souls even had to endure a 3 night luxury stay with their Aunty Rhona during the noisy stuff! Tsk 😲🐰🙄😅
Fear not, they're now recovered from the upheaval and made themselves quite comfy once more 🐰
We hope everybunny is happy, safe and well ❤️

Tonight we shared supper to help wash down all those extra fenugreek crunchies after Daisy stole the treat bag from the shelf when I wasn't looking.

We made it into the big bonding pen in their shared territory today, yaay!!

It's still going well with the bonding but I did have to call it a day after a bit too much excitement from Dougal.

Daisy still persists with the grooming and nipping, Dougal finally told her that he wasn't too happy and a wee bit of chasing ensued. Even though I stopped it from escalating a few times, Daisy was getting a bit too stressed so that was enough for today.

So yep, all normal bonding behaviours but it's best to, of you'll excuse the pun, nip these things in the bud so as it doesn't cause any bad feeling for this blossoming bunny friendship.

They're now happily lying side by side by the pen panel and looking quite relaxed.
We shall resume bunny dating tomorrow... Soon bunnies, soon! 🐰❤️🐰

On tonight's not so thrilling episode of bunny bonding date night, Daisy holds Dougal hostage in the carrier whilst giving him a good grooming, complete with norty nips. 😳

We read earlier that this groom and nip/gentle bite is her way of telling him she's gonna be boss (which makes sense!), or telling him she wants to be groomed in return, or simply her inexperience as she's never had a companion before?

Either way, they're doing good together, there's been a few tense moments but overall given a bit more time they'll soon settle into a happy pair 🐰❤️🐰

Daisy's grooming skills need some fine tuning, she's a tad too bitey, Dougal kept coming back for more before he finally got annoyed and a wee bunny scuffle broke out.
Slowly but surely we'll get this pair bonded 🐰❤️🐰
