We have excellent facilities with floodlit indoor and outdoor arenas with show jumps for the sole use of the liveries. We have lovely, well maintained grazing and a vet led yard worming programme to ensure the horses here are healthy and happy. Thornton offers Grass & D.I.Y. livery with first class facilities in beautiful countryside just outside Edinburgh.
Our 60 x 30 Outdoor Arena and 20 x 40 Indoor School have professionally installed sand and fibre surfaces. Floodlights mean that they are both well-lit all year round. We also provide a set of Jumps4Joy Show Jumps which are bright, safe and easy to move around. Dressage markers are available for outdoor practice too so you can make sure that you and your horse are competition ready. Hacking in the area is varied and picturesque if you’d rather take time out from training. Facilities are reserved for use of our clients only so that they’re always accessible to liveries.
12X12 Stables in covered yards are fantastic in the unpredictable Scottish weather. Our Drimee Solarium and Hippo Hot Horse Shower are perfect when getting ready for shows or just tidying up. If you’re waiting for the farrier or vet you can take a break in the Coffee Bothy where there is a kettle, microwave and fridge available.
We have extensive well-maintained paddocks. Living in small settled groups mares and geldings graze separately and with our vet led yard worming programme the horses here stay healthy, happy and relaxed.
D.I.Y. Livery includes hay or haylage with the option of straw bedding. Grass Livery includes hay or haylage provided in horse friendly plastic Haybell feeders during the winter. We also have the option of Grass + Stable for those who prefer to winter out in all but the wildest weather.
