We were thrilled to learn that Vycki and her gang have recently raised a fabulous £120 to directly benefit DAS through their hill walking challenge.

Our grateful thanks go out to Vycki; her efforts and the cash raised are very much appreciated. It will help us and our ongoing mission to ensure that everyone knows about the help which is available via DAS if they have challenges caring for their dog.

DAS promotes responsible dog ownership through our programmes and schemes – Neutering Voucher Scheme, Veterinary Aid Scheme, Training Advice and we also provide help and assistance with rehoming dogs from and within Scotland.

Dog Aid Scotland currently spends in the region of £500,000 every year providing vital services. As a charity we receive no Government funding and rely solely on the generosity of the public through donations, memberships, and legacies.

If you are interested in fundraising or Volunteering for Dog Aid Scotland, keep an eye on our website for some very exciting news!

** Why rehome a dog with Dog Aid Scotland? **

Dog Aid Scotland provides help and assistance with rehoming dogs from and within Scotland. We are proud of our unique rehoming service; first and foremost, we have the dogs welfare at heart. Our rehoming service seeks suitable loving new homes for dogs of all ages and breeds being placed for adoption.

Dog Aid Scotland’s “home to home” rehoming service continues to be favourable to owners who do not want their dogs placed in kennels. The dog stays with their current owner while we actively search for a new loving home for the dog. DAS supports the owner and dog through the whole rehoming journey, from making the hard decision to contact DAS for a chat with our knowledgeable team about rehoming, all the way to seeing the dog happily settled in their new home.

DAS rehomes dogs of various ages and breeds. We ensure that all the dogs we rehome receive a vet check before they are placed in their new home. Dog Aid Scotland also pays for the dogs to be neutered and vaccinated where and when necessary. If we are rehoming a dog over 8 years old or a dog with a pre-existing condition, we will support the new owner with vet bills to ensure the best care is continued.

For more information on the dogs we have available for rehoming please go to our website www.dogaidscotland.com/dogs-available and click on each dogs profile 🙂

Myles is looking for a new home 🏡

Name: Myles
Breed: Beagle
Gender: Male – to be neutered once settled in new home
Age: 3 years old
Is Myles suitable to live with children? : Yes, aged 5+
Is Myles suitable to live with cats? : No.
Is Myles suitable to live with other dogs? : No.

Myles is a lovely, sweet boy who is looking for a new home through no fault of his own. He has a wonderful temperament and will make a lovely addition to a home.

He is such a happy boy and always likes to greet people whether it is visitors to the home or out and about on walks. He can get a little excited though and may jump, but this could be managed with further training.

Myles is a cuddly boy who loves nothing more than snuggling next to you on the sofa. His favourite toys are soft cuddly ones. He enjoys going for his daily walks but Myles has never been off lead even in secure areas. His recall will need a lot of work in his new home. He does pull when walking and happily wears a harness for his walks. Myles is good with other dogs and will show interest in playing and interacting with them. However, he would prefer to be the only dog in his new home as he needs all the attention.

Myles can sit, give a paw for a treat and has recently been learning to ‘wait’. He travels well in the car boot. He has been to the groomers and behaved well.

Myles is looking for a home with experience of Beagles or Hounds as he does have some typical Hound traits and the new home should be committed to continue his training. He is still very puppy-like and would benefit hugely from new owners that have experience with dogs to show him manners, etc. Myles would also like to have company during the day and will need his own secure garden – this gives him an area to relax in and he can run around off lead.

Myles is such a loving and affectionate young boy, if you can offer Myles a comfy spot on your sofa then please apply for him at www.dogaidscotland.com/dogs/myles/

Phoebe is looking for a new home 🏡

Name: Phoebe
Breed: Dachshund
Gender: Female – to be spayed once settled in her new home
Age: 5 years old
Is Phoebe suitable to live with children? : Yes, ideally children aged 10+
Is Phoebe suitable to live with cats? : Yes, as long as it is used to dogs
Is Phoebe suitable to live with other dogs? : Yes, a well behaved dog

Phoebe is looking for a new home with Dachshund experience. She would love a home with a garden and company most of the time as this is what she is used to. Phoebe loves being made a fuss of and would enjoy scent work.

Phoebe barks when visitors come to the home but will settle. She is bit weary of other children outside the home running up to her. She can be nervous at the vet and she barks when she is nervous.

Phoebe can also run away in fear and bark if dogs suddenly come up to her, but can be fine if she sees them in advance. She walks well, she wears a harness and is used to walking off lead and she doesn’t pull when she is on the lead. Phoebe’s recall is good with her current owner and she responds well to commands. She particularly loves running around in a grassy field. Phoebe would enjoy doing a job such as scent work, she enjoys sniffing around.

Phoebe can be left alone for several hours, the TV or radio is normally left on to keep her company. Phoebe is always lifted into the car and travels fine on short journeys. She is not keen on baths but will tolerate them and doesn’t mind being brushed.

Phoebe’s favourite place at home is lying on the arm of the sofa to watch life outside the window. She loves being petted and lying on your lap. She is a very loving little girl and will follow you around the house.

Phoebe is an affectionate and curious Dachshund with some nerves. If you think you have the right home for her, please apply at www.dogaidscotland.com/dogs/phoebe/

Bruce is looking for a new home 🏡

Name: Bruce
Breed: Yorkshire Terrier
Gender: Male – to be neutered when older and settled in new home
Age: 9 months old
Is Bruce suitable to live with children? : Yes, ideally 10+ years old
Is Bruce suitable to live with cats? : Yes
Is Bruce suitable to live with other dogs? : Yes

Young Bruce is looking for a new home with a garden and where he can have company most of the time. It would be great if it has Terrier experience as well.

Bruce is still very young at 9 months and will need his training to be continued in his new home.

So far, Bruce is great at travelling by car. He loves children, other dogs and is even fine with cats. He is a very happy little chap, he loves to say hello to everyone and everything. His tail wags a lot! The only thing he has had a different reaction to are squirrels.

Bruce is still in training so currently will cry a bit when you leave him alone in the home. He currently has access to a garden which is a must in his new home too. On walks, Bruce has not been let off the lead yet as he is still very young so this with his recall should be worked on in his new home. Bruce has attended some puppy training classes but will need consistent training in his new home as he is still so young. Bruce has been crate trained and sleeps there at night.

He has been to the groomers already and behaved well. Bruce is a bit scared of loud noises, but being a typical Terrier, he will bark if he sees something at the window.

Bruce is a very loving and happy boy, he loves a belly rub and will give you his paw. His favourite thing is to play tug of war and eating chews.

Bruce would make an amazing companion to a new home with Terrier experience and the willingness to continue with his training.

Please apply for Bruce if you can give him the best forever home www.dogaidscotland.com/dogs/bruce/
