STRAY DOG

UPDATE: CLAIMED BY OWNER BEFORE 5PM TODAY! BRILLIANT!!

Brought in by Moray Council from Keith. It has a brain condition which causes it to spin, so should be easy to identify. Not chipped. Please let the owner know that the wee soul is here, if you recognise her.

🐾UPDATE - GOOD NEWS🐾

Nessie is home. Nessie sauntered in wondering what all the fuss was about! Her family are delighted to see her. Nessie is now grounded for life!

MISSING - ELGIN

Has anyone spotted Nessie?
Gorgeous 2 year old, Nessie is an indoor cat and escaped again from her home in the Oldmills area of Elgin yesterday. Nessie is a very small, pure bred Ragdoll who is very timid and it would be very difficult for a stranger to catch her. Nessie could easily be mistaken for a kitten due to her slight build. Jessis's family are very worried about her. Nessie will probably be very scared, disorientated and could be hiding. Please can everyone check their gardens sheds and garages in case she has been shut in and PM us with any info as comments can be missed

Home now. Thanks folks.
Found Nairn! This handsome chap is at our Nairn branch (01667453161) having been found running at Delnies. His chip is still registered to the breeder so doesn’t help us. If he’s yours call the surgery and we’ll get him back to you. Entire male, likes biscuits. Even if he’s not yours check the contact details on your pets chip are upto date so we can get them home when they turn up.

Winter Walkies🐾

This dog-walking drive was created to highlight pet behavioural problems and help tackle pet obesity; did you know that almost 12% of the dogs owned in the UK are overweight?

The lack of mental stimulation and physical activity that a dog would gain from a walk or park-play can lead to destructive behaviours and contribute to many pet obesity related health problems including:

- Diabetes
- Joint Health
- Heart Disease

Do these sound familiar? They are the same obesity related health problems that happen to us too.

Here are some safety tips while out walking in the darker winter mornings or evenings:

🐾Wear a reflective jacket, use reflective harnesses or collars with the addition of a blinking light
🐾Take care on footpaths that have been gritted. It can burn paw pads so these need to be avoided, or the dogs paws washed immediately (this may also mean it’s too cold for their paws to be out too long anyway)
🐾Avoid the use of extendable leads and off lead dog play during the darker hours of the day.

Share your most recent walk with your dog in the comments below!
