I started out my dog grooming journey with Jo Silk-Smith in 2020 as an apprentice, I have learned so much since then and now it is time to grow in my dog grooming career, and that is how Taya's Dog grooming was born! Recently, at Mastergroom I won Best Intermediate in show!!

Hello everyone I am back in work today after a lovely weekend away in Belgium watching the world championships. There was some amazing groomers there but a huge bonus is that England came 6th out of 23th countries. The atmosphere was amazing and the quality of grooms were amazing. 🏴󠁧󠁢󠁥󠁮󠁧󠁿🐾🐾😊✂️

What are you paying for when your dog gets groomed?

At a time where it seems everything is so expensive you might wonder why dog grooming prices aren't cheap these days.. but are they, when you consider the cost involved in providing a dog grooming service ?

Electricity
Shampoo( £60 5ltr)
Conditioner( same as shampoo)
Ear cleaner(£40 500ml)
Sprays ( colognes, anti tangle spray, scissors mist etc)
Brushes
Combs
Scissors( these literally cost £100's per pair)
Clippers ( usually around £350 a pair)
Clipper blades (£30-£50 each..a wide selection needed)
Trimmers (£150+)
Tables ( £600+)
High velocity dryers ( £600+)
Finishing dryer (£600+)
Cabin dryer (£3000+)
Hydrobath(£3000+)
Servicing
Sharpening
Software
Insurance
Education (thousands upon thousands of pounds)

A skill set that enables your groomer to provide a top class service...priceless

Then, after all that, your dog groomer needs to make a wage to pay their own bills and make provisions for sick and holiday pay because if we don't work we don't get paid if ww don't set aside for this!

For the price you pay you get a dog who

Gets a minimum of two shampoos..however many washes it takes to clean the dirt from them.

Conditioner

Nails trimmed

Nails filed if dog allows

Pads trimmed

Poopy bum cleaned

Eye bogies removed

Ears cleaned if needed

Dried with at least 2 types of hair dryer to make their coat perfect for grooming.

A bespoke clip/handstrip/scissors cut .

Products used are of the highest quality possible..if they're not good enough for my show dogs they're not good enough for your beautiful babies!
