Advertising for a family friend…

Korey now has no work and numbers need to be cut down due to ill health. He’s a gentleman to handle and I’ve shown him successfully.

He’s thrown some lovely kids and is currently wasted. He’s got some fantastic breeding behind him.

We have a few of this years kids looking for a new home! As you all know we had 9 female kids this year and seem as my space is limited I’ve got a few girls who need to find a nice new shed of their own.

Horsehay Broniamh (British Alpine, disbudded)
Horsehay Bonnibelle (Any Other Variety, polled)
Horsehay Humbelina (Any Other Variety, disbudded)

Would love for these 3 to go together but would consider splitting if you’ve got other goats! All 3 are absolute fuss pots. All have been shown and would carry on being shown (if space wasn’t an issue I’d have no qualms in keeping all 3!)

Safe to say we’ve been having a blast at Royal Welsh Show

We had a wonderful few days at Royal Cheshire County Show Andretti got his BCCs both days (despite behaving like an absolute tool on day one!) Broniamh was 1st BA kid both days, Bramley was 1st AOV goatling both days, Bonniblue was 3rd in AOV kid class both days, Batman (Bernard!) was 1st and best male kid both days and Humbug was 5th in a very strong BA milker class both days.

Super proud of our boys and girls but also relieved that that’s our boy shows done for the year and now it’s just down to the girls! Honley next!

Really not the post I was hoping to make about my last kidding of 2024. But this is the real world and I think it’s just as important to share the highs and lows to show people it’s not all cute babies and winning shows.

Wednesday Flame kidded. To say it was traumatic was an understatement. It took me a good couple of hours to finally get a male and female kid out of her, who by some miracle were alive. Flame was obviously really traumatised and was quite poorly so me and the vet treated her with everything possible and waited with bated breath. Unfortunately the next day she passed away in my arms and there was nothing that could be done. Luckily I’ve got her babies who are doing amazing with the help of Sandra who has stepped in as foster mum! Definitely missing my donkey 💔

Humbug decided yesterday was the day and gave us two female kids to Sandcroft Ragnor (pure saanen) so we have little Humbelina and Humbelicia (Lena and Leesha) Humbug absolutely adores her babies

I’m useless at remembering to update this! So far we’ve kidded 3 goats back in February! To our lovely Dylan that we lost back in September

Bronwen had two females Broniamh and Bronuala (Niamhy and NooNoo)
Bathbun had one of each
Batman and Bathani (Bernard and Narna )
Livewire had 3 girls Bonniblue, Bonnibelle and Bonnimaeve (blue, Belle and Mavis)

All are causing absolute havoc and growing like weeds!

Ended the year on a high for us ❤️

Kiwi was reserve best in show and took her 5th BCC meaning if she holds that on her milk she’ll officially be a breed champion 😅 Hard work paying off and a well deserved rest for us all now, time to get these goats mated and get things ready for 2024 show season. Putting 6 in kid so will be complaining about kids before we know it 🙏

We’ve got a crazy busy week this week! Friday we went to Usk Show 2023 and we had a fantastic albeit boiling hot show 🥵

The girls coped tremendously well with the heat and amazingly for us we ended up Best In Show with Eskdale Kiwi, which for anyone who saw my face on the day absolutely blew me away! We knew this girl was special but to take best in show is always amazing!

The other girls did absolutely amazing too but Kiwi definitely stole all the limelight ❤️ we’d had a rubbish week so this definitely turned it around.

We also might have a new arrival to introduce so watch this space! we’ve got one of our two final shows of the year this week so it’s all systems go go go here!
