Seeing lots of groomers offer this service which is such a worry, anything in regards to teeth should always be done at the vets 🐶

Some of our clients have told us that their dog grooming providers are now offering "ultrasonic tooth cleaning".
Dentistry (if performed by using an ultrasonic dental scaler specifically) should not be performed on dogs or cats without anaesthesia, and we want to make owners aware of this distinction while agreeing to services. There are significant health risks in scaling a pet's teeth without appropriate veterinary training.
Cleaning the teeth properly with an ultrasonic scaler is an act of veterinary surgery and can only legally be performed by your veterinary team. Allowing someone to carry out anaesthesia free dentistry on your pet could be regarded as failing to safeguard the welfare of your pet. The welfare of animals is protected under law by the Animal Welfare Act.

Hoping my lovely customers can take a few seconds to sign this important petition- as always the breed is not the problem it’s the irresponsible people who are breeding these dogs just to make money without any thought into the temperament that is going to be put out into each litter and interbreeding them just to be able to produce quick litters, these people don’t care for the correct bloodlines and are not breeding them to what the breed standard should be. This breed was created to be a loving and gentle breed and ‘breeders’ are ruining this. Along with people buying them because it makes them ‘look cool’ and not getting them any training or giving them socialisation or even understanding what correct dog socialisation is, causing them to become reactive/aggressive and with a dog this powerful it’s only going to go one way. Banning this breed will not stop the breeding, it will make the breeding worse as it will become even more unregulated and we’re going to see more and more of these dogs being PTS because of humans greed. This topic has come up in conversation with customers quite a bit this week and it makes me sad that people who haven’t experienced what the breed is supposed to be like are seeing the attacks on the news and presuming they’re all like this because the true core of what the breed is meant to be is getting less and less. When bred correctly this dog is lovely and through personal experience with grooming them and spending time with them out of work I’d take them over most other breeds any day, so please sign this petition to try and save the breed

I believe that the XL bully is a kind, beautiful natured breed that loves children and people in general, and are very loyal and loving pets.

We’re having lots of last minute cancellations lately with people not wanting to pay the cancellation fee, as always I go to the highest effort to try and fill the slot as I never enjoy charging the fee but as a business i need to, if I don’t fill the slot then I don’t get paid. I have bills to pay and a staff member - so many other businesses have a cancellation policy like hairdressers, beauty technicians etc so it shouldn’t be any different that groomers have them too. My cancellation policy was sent out to all customers when we updated it so it shouldn’t be coming as a shock to people. I understand things can happen beyond the persons control and a lot of times I have honoured it but I can’t for all circumstances. I really don’t want to have to start taking deposits off people but I’m going to have to if this keeps happening.

With this being this weeks weather forecast please DO NOT walk your dog down to the salon, if a dog arrives and it’s showing signs of heat stress then I may turn them away. Please do not arrive early to drop your dog off or late to collect, even though fans will be on it will still be very hot in the salon and I don’t want dogs hanging round when they could be at home in the cool. If you would like to re arrange for next week (especially the older dogs in) please message and we can re arrange ☀️ hope everyone enjoys the sun sensibly! 🥰
