🦷 Dental Month 🦷

February is dental awareness month!

80% of dogs & 70% of cats show signs of dental issues by age 3!
The best way to avoid dental issues is to brush your pets teeth. There are some other things you can do to aid dental care:
- nutraplaque
- Oral hygiene gel
- Water additives
- Dental chews/treats
- Dental food

We offer FREE dental checks with our nurses 🐾

Quiet corner 💤

We have added a new seating area in reception in Ellon!

We understand that not all dogs feel comfortable socialising, so we created a space for them to be away from the main waiting area. This is also a safe space for cats so they don’t have to be amongst lots of dogs! It can be a stressful time for pets so hopefully this will help them feel a bit more comfortable during their visit.

Our lovely models Daisy & Archie 🐾

CHRISTMAS COUNTDOWN: DAY 4 🎄
One heartwarming story a day to celebrate the season of giving and hope!

🦔 Barbed Wire VS Hedgehog 🩸

This is a good reminder to always contact a wildlife rescue centre for advice before letting go of a rescued wild animal. This hedgehog was found tangled in barbed wire. Despite the temptation to just free the hedgehog and let it go, the finder took the correct course of action and called us to assess the hedgehog. Although the hedgehog had appeared to be uninjured when the finder gave him a quick once over after cutting him free, the reality was quite different.

Upon assessment at New Arc Wildlife Rescue the hedgehog was found to have suffered a significant injury to his chest, leaving him in a lot of pain and at a high risk of infection.

Luckily, our wonderful vets at Glenythan Vet Group were able to stitch the hedgehog back together. After a few weeks of treatment and care, the hedgehog was returned to his territory with a clean bill of health to continue his wild adventure.
