⭐️SOCIALISATION SUCCESS STORIES!!⭐️
This is 9 month old Labrador Tilly. Tilly can be anxious around new people & in environments like the vets. She has been attending our socialisation clinics with our nursing team for 4 months.
To begin with Tilly would tremble and vocally express her nervousness with low grumbles & barks, which can be heard at the start of this video. You can also hear Tilly reacting to noise outside of the consult room (e.g. people walking past the room or loud talking). Over time the nursing team have allowed Tilly to gain confidence & trust through her love of biscuits.
Our aim is to prepare Tilly for her booster in February. As you can see in the video, we are working on tenting the scruff (as this is the site of injection for the booster), as using the stethoscope and introductions to the Vet who will be carrying out the booster & health check appointment. Tilly has massively improved & now does several commands. Her body language is also visibly relaxing throughout the video.
We are very proud of how far Tilly has come and look forward to the further progress she makes. WELL DONE TILLY!! 🤩🥳

⭐️ Socialisation clinic star ⭐️
The beautiful 7 month old Maeve has been attending socialisation clinics with our RVN since her 2nd vaccine back in April.
At that point she didn’t like being petted by the vets or nurses and was extremely nervous but since attending socialisation clinics she has come on leaps and bounds and will now allow a full examination with no fuss, play with toys in the room and happily take biscuits.
Progress for socialisation doesn’t happen overnight but that’s what makes it even more rewarding for our RVN Katrina. There is nothing quite like the feeling of working with an animal for a period of time and having a break through where you start to see improvement (however small) in their confidence, happiness and bond with us.
Well done Maeve 👏
Photos to follow on a separate post as facebook wouldn’t let us post both at the same time.
