Good morning due to the current weather and it due to get worse we ask that all clients due to be at the centre today be aware that we have decided to close the centre in the interest of keeping everyone safe all lessons and activities due to take place today will be re scheduled.

All liveries we are happy to take full care of all your horses and ponies with no additional charges.

Next up in introducing the horses and ponies we have Mr Milo.

We bought Milo 24 years ago when we lived in Aberdeen from a very very good friend in Ayrshire as a foal at foot on his mum whom we named Pippa they had came over from Ireland. On the same trip we also bought another infoal bay mare her and Pippa were best friends.

We took them home to our yard at Ardoe and the other mare soon foaled a lovely skewbald c**t.

At weaning time both c**ts were sold to 2 friends and named Milo and Jake by their new owners after the characters from the children’s program Tweenies.

Sally who bought Milo also went onto buy Pippa.

We then moved to Ladymire not far from where Milo and Pippa stayed with Sally. Milo then came to us to be broken and although easy to break he was a stubborn strong minded lad his favourite trick used to be if he didn’t want to me tied up he’d sit down like a dog and just pull the metal ring right out the wall 🙈🙈 oh and he especially hated bath time with a passion.

Lots of work and well as you all know he’s a firm favourite in the riding school having tough many many adults and children to ride he was also a firm favourite with the RDA.

Milo has done well out and about at shows with Nim where he’s done a bit of dressage, SJ and Working Hunter he was always a please to take out he has also enjoyed a few trips to the beach and soo. Got used to the waves.

Fact Mr Milo still holds the fastest jump off time at one of our Ladymire shows when the rider connects with him boy can he move 💨💨

Pippa then also came to live with us for a number of years she worked in the riding school also doing RDA and then went onto be a fantastic brood mare for Nim and the Gubrach stud breeding 2 fantastic foals which are both still here Leggy whom you all know and Lawrance.

Milo is now owned by Jeremy but continues on a working livery basis here at the centre and still loves all the attention and being ridden.

Good morning

It’s another cold day a morning of defrosting taps to get the taps in the stables running but the horses are all good in had a lovely warm feed and are ready for the lessons ahead.

Please remember if you or your children are staying at the stables for the day they must have appropriate clothing including spares if possible so they can add extra layers or change if they do get wet it’s important they stay warm.

Also that they have adequate food and water/juice it’s important they eat properly to not only help with keeping them warm but also obviously to help with their fitness and strength for riding and everything else that comes with being an equestrian athlete.

Next up we have Beauty aka Llanwnen Awel Ddu

A pure bred Welsh sec D owned By Nim and purchased as a yearling she is by the prolific Welsh sec d stallion Menai Firework and out of Llanwnen Briallen.

Shown very successfully in hand over the years by Nim Beauty has always been great fun to take out to shows where she enjoys the atmosphere and turns on the Welsh pizazz always showing off her true Welsh movement winning many many championships including being placed at the Royal Highland Show. After a successful inhand career Beauty was broken to ride , Nim then made the decision whilst being pregnant herself to put Beauty in foal to the prolific multi champion winning Welsh Sec D stallion Pennal The Great whom she had fallen in love with at shows and his very kind temperament along with his fabulous breeding and movement he made a great match for Beauty.

Beauty went onto have a lovely filly Grace who is still here with us and will hopefully be broken this year.

After weaning Grace Beauty had some time off to let her body recover before being brought back into work , it was never the intention to put her in the riding school but she has taken to it very well and lots of our clients enjoy her.

Good evening everyone, we hope you are all well and surviving this cold weather. Lessons are running as normal. If you do have to cancel or require information about booking please do always contact the centre direct on (01358)729969 and leave a slow clear message and someone will get back to you.

Happy new year to you all , we have lots of exciting things planned for 2025.

We would like to thank all liveries and clients who took time over the festive period to come in and lend a hand it’s was greatly appreciated and allowed us more time to spend with Sophia 🤩😍.

We do have limited availability in a lot of our group lessons with most being full , there is some weekly availability for private and semi private lessons but again these slots are limited, please do get in touch if you are looking for lessons.

Whilst going through photos clearing memory space I came across photos of some of the horses from over the years and thought you may like to see them 🤩

First up we have beautiful Moulan owned by Nim, Moulan who originally came to us to be broken in but we then went onto purchase her and have never looked back.

Moulan has done so so much over the years from teach hundreds to ride , doing riding for the disabled, competing all over Scotland in showing, working Hunter, show jumping, cross country and dressage with various riders along with enjoying the beach she really is a phenomenal all rounder and she was actually awarded the BHS trophy for the best all rounder equine in the Uk, Ireland and Wales.

Moulan gave us a fantastic foal Albert who we still have here at the centre and was recently broken to ride in 2024 and has been turned away for winter but he will soon come back in to be ridden away.

Below are a small selection of Moulan in action out and about, she is now enjoying a quieter slower life but she very very much still enjoys the odd lesson a few times a week and of course her hacks with a friends of ours.

The magnetic bracelets are proving to be very popular this is all we currently have left in them.

I myself suffer badly from Reynolds and carpel tunnel in both wrists and hands and this time of year is especially bad with my hand quite literally in agony and wearing at least 2 pairs of gloves at all times to try and help the pain.

I’ve been wearing one of the magnetic copper rings for 3 weeks now and noticed a difference I wasn’t in as much pain and my fingers weren’t going quite as white as they normally do I then ordered myself one of the copper bracelets as I was always advised to wear a copper bracelet years ago when I was first diagnosed with M.E and Sophia gave me one of the leather ones for my birthday the other week and I really do wish I’d found these years ago as I’ve had very very little pain and loss of colour to my finger’s especially since wearing them even when out in all that snow and ice last week breaking ice on water troughs in previous years I’d be in tears with the pain but not this year I am honestly blown away 🤯.

Loving hearing how those who have purchased them are already seeing and feeling the benefits

I myself am wearing one of the leather bracelets and a copper ring and every winter I get extremely sore fingers due to my Reynolds and carpel tunnel my fingers always go white and very very painful I also get extremely sore toes this last week it’s been extremely cold outside and very long days for me being out each day from 5.30 am and I’m delighted to say I’ve had very little pain at all in my feet and hands 🙌🏻 and the only things which are different from previous winters are the bracelets and insoles.
