Amino yesterday π
After a summer of mostly hacking he's starting to find his feet for some school work π
Look at Ruby SHINE π«π«π«
I'm fully booked now until the week beginning 11th November. I've a few clients still to get in touch with about the end of next week which I'll do over the next couple of days.
If you'd like to get booked in ping me a message, it's really handy for me if you're on a yard if you check if any others would like clipped to, just means I can tie you all in together and saves me time organising logistics and driving around βΊοΈ
Geeky clipper clip π€
Your horse may look super clean on the surface.....but that isn't always the case!
This horse almost looked as if he'd been bathed he was gleaming....but what lurked beneath showed a different story! (Not at all trying to shame just a really good example) effort had most certainly gone into getting him clean for me but you can see even with a good brush the difference.
If you don't have an option to bath a really good hot cloth daily for 3 days prior certainly helps βΊοΈ Unfortunately I can't get a perfect finish if they're greasy, not to mention it blunts my blades and puts more pressure on my equipment (i'm also more allergic to a dirty horse π€§π€§)
A clean horse just generally makes for a happy Keely and a happy pony π
Great day yesterday π
Gerty found her love for XC π€©
Jess had her first hack under saddle and was really relaxed, a huge step for her βΊοΈ
Amino had his first unaccompanied hack...bit of a work in progress but lots of positives between the baby moments.
Video of Gerts enjoying herself π₯°
Enjoying working with this super talented young horse #blackbeauty
Menacing clouds today...luckily dodged the rain π§ lovely wee hack on Amino with Elenor βΊοΈ
Progress again today π first time off lead, after a very tense start I'm glad we got to this point today π
From the beginning of the backing process Jess instinct was to run/scoot. So we've spent a lot of time teaching her to just stop if she's unsure π forward isn't going to be a problem with this horse so introducing the trot slowly has been quite important for her to process, hence not pressuring her into a forwards trot yet. Every baby is different and needs a different approach. This hasn't been an intensive backing process, I've been going only twice a week for a few months so although may seem slow to some, it's been very important we take each step as it comes, as I said before we started with a relatively unhandled 18hh 4 yo reactive (but very kind and willing) mare.
She's going to be very impressive when she's up and running...I've seen her moves ππ₯ not many move like her!
Little bit of Axl spam π€€
I just love this horse, he's going to be something very special in a couple of years time. Not often you get a 4yo who has the looks, temprement, brain and paces that come so naturally π«Ά
Progess π still attached but think we'll be off the line by the end of the next session βΊοΈ absolutely delighted with Jess today π
Can't get much better than an evening hack on the baby pony you've helped back π₯°
2 weeks without being sat on and we bit the bullet and went in the big arena βΊοΈ gold stars for Jess, still a lot for her to process but a big step in the right direction πͺ
Jess has had a week off while i was busy, so we went for a jolly for he first time round the stubble field βΊοΈ good as gold. She's been a bit cheeky/bored this last week so I recon she needs her work, she certainly loved the long reins. Let's hope the time off has helped her process some of the other work we've done π
