It’s a fish that is sure to make an instant impact in any community aquarium. These are F1 fish, meaning they are first generation from wild parents so they will settle into aquarium life perfectly. 🐠🐠🐠🐠🐠🐠🐠🐠🐠🐠🐠🐠🐠Platinum Red Tail Catfish have arrived in store 😎 These things are even more incredible in person… this colour variety is a Leucistic meaning it lacks pigment in the skin giving it a white/yellow appearance. The black eyes show this is Leucism over an albino trait. As cool and rare as this catfish is this is not a fish for the feint of heart… they grow like weeds on steroids and can easily reach 2ft in a year. As adults they will be well over a metre so taking one of these on will require a proper plan to house this river monster. These don’t come around very often so if you’ve been wanting one of these now is the time to bag yourself one of these rare turtles 🤩 That said these are a specialist animal that aren’t for everyone, they will grow to around 2ft and are very active swimmers so a large tank for long term care is required. Diet wise they love a bit of everything. Hungry Fly River Turtles 😍These guys absolutely love their food as you can see and we love having this rare turtle available in store 🐢For those interested in Fly Rivers, a large tank or tropical pond for long term care is required. They grow to nearly 2ft in length, females usually bigger than males. As with anything a mixed diet is best, this species particularly as they will eat a lot of vegetation/fruits in the wild. We feed them on a mixture of Hikari pellets, Arcadia pellets as well as chopped fruit and plant material.
