The girls and I absolutely loved our coffee and cake from Sophie's today, making the most of their fabulous January offer.

The things I do for my clients and their dogs 😅 ❤️
I spent my Sunday night chopping up the high value treats to use in all the training sessions and behaviour consultations this week 🥰

The entire procedure was carefully overseen by my Quality Control Manager L’eau 👌🐩 she says I did a good job but was stingy with the payment for her outstanding efforts in this role 😂

I love receiving updates like this from clients 😍

I saw little Bertie the toy poodle recently because he’s been reactive towards other dogs out walking and in his home, since he got attacked by an off lead out of control dog.

The main issue out walking was that Bertie would sprint ahead on his flexi lead and create tension, as well as coming at other dogs head on with a very tense posture due to being on the lead. With him being so far ahead the owners had little control so Bertie got the chance to react before his owners could intervene.
So we’ve changed the way he walks and I’m so glad to say he has improved so much already 💪

Still a work in progress as reactivity especially due to traumatic experience is never a quick fix, but sometimes the smallest changes have a big impact ❤️

Engaging your dog in an activity involving lots of sniffing, is a great way to give them enrichment and tire out their brains in a calm manner.
Dogs have more than 100 million scent receptors (compared to only 6 million in humans!) so when using their nose, they get a lot of information to process 😁
The area of their brain that is dedicated to analysing odours is also 40 times larger than that of a human brain 🧠

Activities such as snuffle matts are a great way to give your dog lots to think about and engage their wonderful brain, which tires them out and helps them relax ❤️

I get the pleasure of working with some lovely dogs and owners, and this week has just been proof of that! 🥰

Meet Bertie, he is one of my behaviour modification clients. As a pup Bertie was really poorly so he missed out on the key socialisation period.
Now he’s all better, we are helping him build confidence at home and outdoors.
We’re also putting in some much needed boundaries, Bertie has become very good at milking the “feel sorry for me” card, even after getting better 😅

I’m really looking forward to seeing this little guy grow in confidence and becoming the goodest boy ❤️

December and January have been such busy months for me that I have not had enough time to keep up with my social media account 😅

Here are 2 gorgeous boys who are helping keep me busy! Meet Anubis and Louis ❤️

These two rascals have been having a few disagreements in their home, and Anubis has also started to back chat to his owners quite a bit.

We have started working together and thanks to my advice and their owners hard work, these two boys have already started to get along better in just 5 days 😍

I can’t wait to work with these two more and see them to coexist happily 🥰

I’d like to introduce a very small and cute member of the PuppyPro team 💪
This is Roux! She is an 8 year old Toy Poodle. 🐩

Roux has a very important role at PuppyPro, she is my stooge dog.
A stooge dog is a calm and confident dog who is unphased by the behaviour of other dogs such as lunging, barking, growling etc.

Tha majority of her job is to help me safely assess behavioural issues. I know she will ignore the other dogs reactions so will not contribute to any negativity. 💖
I also find it unfair to rely on any passers by to use them/their dogs in my assessments, it could be a potentially very stressful and dangerous situation for all involved. 👎
So using my own dependable well trained dog, allows me to have full control of the situation and carry out assessments safely. 🥰

She can also help me build confidence in anxious dogs as she exudes calm positive energy 🌟

She’s also incredibly useful in my puppy classes where she helps teach puppies impulse control, how to focus around other dogs and not saying hello to every dog they meet 🦮

So as you can see, Roux is an incredibly important and valued member of the PuppyPro team 🥰 she loves her job and gets paid in plenty of treats and cuddles ❤️

Yesterday I spent the afternoon with the lovely Alfie 🥰

Alfie is an anxious boy who finds life very stressful and overwhelming. His coping mechanism is to cling to his owner, the other dog in the household, or to certain places eg. A corner of the sofa. Alfie is unable to relax and is always looking for “ghosts”.

His anxieties get so bad he refuses to eat 😞 hence he is also under the vets supervision to manage his anxiety.

Yesterday was my first behavioural consultation with Alfie. I spent the time talking to his owner about his history, but also carefully watching Alfie and his reactions to various stimuli that I presented him with eg. Food, toys, other dogs moving around, me moving round etc.

Roux my toy poodle, also came to help me assess him. I will often use my dogs to help assess behavioural issues as I know I can rely on my dogs to stay confident, calm and neutral towards the other dog.

By the end of our session Alfie managed to quietly relax on the sofa without feeling the need to sit on his human or on his dog friend.

It’ll be a long road to recovery for this sweet boy as we have to help him completely change his state of mind, but I’m really looking forward to working with him and his owner ❤️

Has your well behaved puppy suddenly forgotten everything you’ve ever taught them and is behaving like a stroppy teenager?

It’s probably because that’s exactly what they have become 😅

I spent this morning with this beautiful boy, he is a male boxer who at just over a year old has decided manners are for losers and he’s cooler than that 😂

So the aim of this session was to remind him about personal space, not jumping up on people and walking nicely on lead 😁 he’s a clever boy and soon understood the assignment ❤️

I’m available for 1 to 1 sessions within 30 miles radius of Ely.

Can you guess what breed this gorgeous boy is? 🤔

I recently went to do a semen analysis on this guy. Under the microscope, I noticed a lot of puss cells which indicates an infection. This gorgeous guy did not present with any other symptoms and was otherwise happy and well!
I advised his owner to go see the vet 😊

I’m happy to say that after a short course of antibiotics, we have done another analysis and the infection has now cleared up 😁

Doing a semen analysis on your stud dog before breeding him offers you the peace of mind that he produces a good healthy sample. But it can also help catch any issues, such as infections, which would have otherwise gone undetected and could have interfered with your stud dog doing his job!

My top priority is ALWAYS your dogs health and well being ❤️
