Yesterday was National Dog Day. But what does that mean?
National Dog Day, celebrated annually on August 26th, is a day dedicated to honouring dogs of all breeds, recognising their importance in our lives, and promoting adoption. The day was founded in 2004 by animal advocate Colleen Paige to celebrate all dogs, whether purebred, mixed breed, or rescue dogs, and to raise awareness about the number of dogs that need to be rescued each year.
The day also aims to highlight the vital roles that dogs play in society, such as being service animals, therapy dogs, or working in search and rescue missions. Many people celebrate National Dog Day by sharing pictures of their beloved pets on social media to show their appreciation. So share away…

We had a little challenge for Josh’s cat, Millie. We told her to spend a day in our shoes, constantly hearing her meow for food and demanding attention. She took it literally. She also didn’t appear to have learnt anything from the experiment…apart from that she now enjoys hanging out in or on people’s footwear.
Note to self: cats will do what cats want to do. Respect.
We love what we do, and we take the business very seriously. But it is also important that we enjoy our work, and if we can have some giggles along the way, that is a winning combination!
