Here at Ely puppy & dog training, we work with dogs who require help from puppy age, through to helping with behavioural change in older dogs.

A quieter than usual reactivity workshop today, but these two pups absolutely smashed it out of the park!

Thanks to Ely Dog Field the venue is perfect for this course! (And many others)

Start to finish the improvements were incredible and I couldn’t be more proud of how well the handlers and dogs did.

A super week at puppy school, but sad to be missing one of our special pups. Sending loads of healing wishes after your operation.

Looking at how to start using the nose, your dogs most powerful tool, alongside some body movement, conditioning behaviours and as always, using loads of science and positive reinforcement.

Can’t wait for graduation week.

A busy day of 1-2-1 consultations yesterday.
Such a great day with so much fun and learning.
Looking at everything that drives emotions and behaviours and how we need to adjust little bits of training and make sure any shift in criteria is made in accordance to how the individual dog is learning.

A trio of 1-2-1 sessions today!
Firstly off to Mepal to catch up with a gorgeous girl to see how she is progressing since our first session.
Amazing results, looking at adding lots of criteria to our next session, cannot wait.

Secondly we went to Ely Dog Field for a recall session. Such an amazing hour, a super dedicated owner and working with such an infectious dog was just incredible.

Last but not least, we popped off to see a superb little pup who has developed so much throughout our sessions.
We looked at some recall fun, body movement and had a great recap of everything we have covered in our 1-2-1 package.

What a way to start the week.

We are so excited to be planning lots more fun things in the background here at Ely Puppy & Dog Training, so rather than have lots of different social posts, we thought we do a complete update of everything coming up!

Firstly, we have our next amazing reactivity workshop on 16th February 2025 with just a couple of spaces left. Please do get in touch to secure a space on this course.

We are launching our amazing Teenage + life skills course. This is a 6 week course, with amazing ways to learn how to cope with adolescent behaviours, how to overcome behaviours which we may have accidentally reinforced, and how we can use behaviour modification to get you back on track. This is the perfect course for anyone who has completed our puppy course, or who has a dog 6 months and above.

We are also going to be running our Super Scent School. This will be a great way for you to learn how to get your dogs most powerful tool, their nose, working the right way. It is such a fun course, I love teaching this and it really does help calm your dog down and engage with you.

Our 1-2-1 packages, whether for puppies, or adult dogs have been flying! We are so grateful to everyone for their amazing support, we are dedicated to continuing these for everyone.

Such a great morning at yesterday’s puppy class.
Looking at adding some distance to our recall cue, practicing adding some distance and distraction to our wait position, building distractions for loose lead walking and also building in a beautiful hand touch.

Such great fun, loads of learning and so much positivity.

Keep going guys, progress is happening week after week!

Yesterday I had the pleasure of catching up with this amazing boy and his super dedicated owners.

The progress we’ve made has been incredible! We’ve come so far in such a short space of time, and have now started looking at raising criteria and adding the magical 3 D’s of dog training.

It’s always important to work at the pace your puppy is comfortable with, some dogs need things to be slowed right down, whilst others may need a little more encouragement.
It’s NEVER just breed specific that we look at, we always consider the dog we have in front of us.

Another superb session with this amazing boy.
The progress has been incredible since we’ve been working together on all things puppy.

Today we look at loose lead walking, and also helping this dude use his nose to full effect. The potential is unreal. So proud and happy to be part of his journey.

Our mid point of our amazing perfect puppy course.
Sadly we were missing one pup today due to illness, we hope everything is OK and we see you next week.

Looking at some calming behaviours today, basic verbal cues, impulse control and lots of benefits of nose work and how powerful our dogs nose really is.

Absolutely loved receiving an update on this incredible boy today!
We’ve been looking at some calming behaviour, introducing scent work and helping with some excitable greetings too.

Today this boy was treated to a special day out courtesy of his amazing owners, so they popped to Ely Dog Field to celebrate all the amazing success they’ve achieved since we first met.

Can’t wait to see this boy again soon.

Such a great course from Sally Gutteridge, a huge 6 week learning platform.

Scent work is such a great fun exercise and is perfect for all dogs, whether you have a Labrador, Spaniel, Chihuahua or Chow every dog can be taught to use their nose.

It is a great way to help fearful dogs, reactive dogs, and increase an already amazing bond with your dogs.

I am looking forward to planning how to launch scent work taster sessions and courses very soon.
