Here at Total Grooming Magazine we are excited to announce a new launch - something we are calling ‘Groomer of the Week’, to highlight someone from the industry to our followers.

Our Groomer of the Week launches with the fabulous Louisa Tandy

Louisa has been grooming for almost 35 years and has had her current salon for 27 years. Louisa also started a company running educational seminars and streaming videos and is a proud member of the Guild Of Master Groomers, holding the L.C.G.I.

Louisa is a founding member of the English Groomers Group and not only organised one of the country’s biggest and longest running competitions but also boasts the largest grooming members only Facebook group in the UK with over 18 thousand members.

Louisa has been very successful in the world of competitive grooming, competing in Poodles, Pure Breed, Handstrip, Workshop and Clip classes and has judged at most of the major competitions in the UK, including the British Grooming Championships and the YKC Groomer of the Year.

Not only has Louisa given countless seminars and demonstrations both in person and online in the UK and Europe but she was also a part of the UK’s biggest online seminar “The Whippet Lockdown Seminar” which raised over £70k for the NHS. Louisa is also the proud Brand Ambassador for both Simpsons and Groomers Gallery and was immensely privileged to have been invited on to Groom Team England as a reserve for the 2023/24 team at the World Championships in Belgium in September 2024. Adding to her accolades, Louisa won Speaker of the Tear 2024 at the Liz Paul Awards and was nominated for Educator of the Year 2024 at Groomphoria. Louisa continues to have a great passion for the industry and is dedicated to promoting professionalism within grooming.

We spoke to Louisa and asked her what her highlights of 2024 are, to which she revealed, the pinnacle was being asked to represent England as a reserve team member at the World Championships. She explained that this moment filled her with pride and wasn’t only a stand-out moment for 2024, but her career too.

Looking ahead, we spoke about plans for 2025, where she revealed there are multiple exciting projects underway, but the biggest and most ambitious will be GroomFest, she said, “It is going to be huge.”

Louisa has also been invited to The Great Scot Groom at Easter to hold a seminar, and has received an invitation to judge and speak at The Great British Grooming Show in May, which she is really looking forward to. In the meantime time, Louisa revealed that she has Crufts demonstrations to organise as well as GroomFest South seminars to plan. We look forward to following her success in 2025!
