We are still waiting for the proper non-slip strips to arrive so have added non slip tape as a temporary measure. Use carefully, as always with any piece of equipment at your own risk.

An amazing pile of pet food donations for Ely Foodbank; all this in the first week. Thank you to everyone who has donated so far.

Also, be aware there are frequently changing road closure and diversions on Whitecross Road this week. Nominally between 9.30 and 3.30, but this also varies each day. They will allow you to access the field, but you may have to take a detour to come from the other end of the road at times. It looks like the work is mostly finished at the Ely / Little Thetford / Witchford end now so that might be the safest bet for access for the rest of the week.

I am trying to update the reminder text with the latest information each day, and during the day as things change, but can't guarantee it will be right for your individual slot. Allow extra time if possible.

Did you know Ely Foodbank also gives out pet food if needed? This helps keeps pets and owners together when times are tough, providing much needed emotional support for us and keeping pets in their homes rather than rescue.

We are collecting pet food again for Ely Foodbank. Dog or cat food, unopened, and ideally with 3 months plus left on the use by date.

There is a box on the bench in the car park for your donations. Everything donated gets weighed in by the Foodbank and we will match the weight of the donations you make between now and Christmas.

And, if you have any spare time you might consider volunteering for the Foodbank. I've been a Foodbank Driver (collecting donations, delivering good parcels to the Foodbank sessions) for the last 18 months and can totally recommend. Contact Ely Foodbank for more details.

It's also the best time to pick up fresh poos; they warm your hands 😉

Kip and Maizey had a lovely time. It is quiet, safe and secure with equipment to explore. They had the option of running, playing and sniffing. We also managed to do some training exercises (thank you Callum). Love the fields 😍.

What a gorgeous autumn morning 😍

On a less delightful note, we've been having a bit of a poo bags issue recently, with the dispensers being emptied faster than we can fill them - sometimes within hours of us filling them up. There hasn't been a corresponding increase in poo bags in the bins or fewer poos left unpicked up. Can we ask you to only take the bags you need for your walk, and leave poo bags for others to use.

Both dispensers filled again this morning so hopefully they will last the day, at least.
