😤🚫 NO SHOWS & CANCELLATIONS 🚫😤

There is nothing more damaging (or frustrating!) to a self employed person than people who don’t show up for their appointment, or people who cancel at the very last minute.

When i book your dogs in for their appointments, they are booked in for a time slot of anywhere between 1 and 3 hours depending on their breed, if you don’t bring your dog to their appointment, i can’t fill that time meaning that I am not NOT EARNING a single penny.

The average groomer loses somewhere between £100-£400 per month in no shows and late cancellations. PER MONTH!! In 5 weeks over November and December I lost over £650!!! That’s a huge loss and it crippled me if I’m going to be honest.

Despite how it may appear and as much as i adore my job and your dogs, i cannot afford to be here not earning, this is my livelihood. I still have to pay the rent on the salon if you turn up or not.

I am now starting to charge for no shows and cancellations less then 48 hours notice, the fee will be the full price of the groom and I really hope this helps to explain why it is so necessary. I obviously can’t make anyone pay this fee however no further appointments will be given out until I have been reimbursed.

I have also not raised my prices in well over a year, yet my shampoos have gone up hugely! (By about 20%) My insurance has gone up, the utilities have gone up and the rent will be going up any time soon, my sharpener has raised his prices to survive himself in this current cost of living crisis. So when I have a no show or a late cancellation, I’m covering all these price increases with no money coming in.

Just imagine if you were docked wages because someone didn’t turn up at your place of work….. every month! I’m taking such a huge hit that I cannot sustain it any more.

I hope you all understand this and can see why I’ve had to implement it, at this point I’d be a fool not to and I won’t be in business this time next year if I continue to let it slide.
