Tick season has arrived.

Ticks hate the smell of lemon, orange, cinnamon, lavender, peppermint, and rose geranium,cedarwood thyme,so they'll avoid latching on to anything that smells of those items. Any of these or a combination can be used in DIY sprays or added to almond oil and rubbed on exposed.

1 oz Any carrier oil such almond or grape seed
7 drops Geranium.
4 drops Peppermint.
4 drops Thyme.
4 drops Cedarwood or Lavender.

Eucalyptus Oil. Not only is eucalyptus oil a tick killer, but it also makes for an effective repellent as well, and it's naturally safe and effective on the body. Mix with carrier oil. NOTE: Eucalyptus is toxic for dogs and cats.
Use caution when using any essential oil around pets.

For Pets- A homemade spray solution of one part vinegar and one part water helps keep ticks and fleas away from your pets. Pour the solution in a spray bottle and spray directly onto your pets, but be careful not to get it in their eyes.

Hello Doggie Mums and Dads
It’s been a while since I posted anything here so thought I would update you all. I’ve not worked since my husband died in August 2021 then I injured my wrist which seems to be an ongoing issue. I am currently doing some additional dog grooming training to help compensate with my injury. I will be doing some dogs during this time and hopefully all back to normal (whatever that is) by August

So Scuffy (lives with Molly) came to see me yesterday. Just needed a pamper and a tidy up on the wiry bits of hair. For those that have been to me will know that you dogs are welcomed into my home and have some playtime between clip and cut. Scuffy even had a chat with the Barney the Parrot. Ahhh Molly the gentle gracefull labradoodle back for a trim. I love this old lady. She sits for a rest and gets up like a proper old lady and stands patiently and waits for me to finish. I lift her down off the table and she trots around like a youngster ❤️ see you soon Molly

Had this lovely little boy called Tiny-Boo to do this week. He’s a Pichon (poodle/Bichon). His mummy likes him clipped as he really doesn’t enjoy the whole grooming experience. But we got on fine with the exception of front feet. He even gave me a kiss at the end so still friends. Look forward to seeing him again soon Kimberley

Had one of my best friends dogs in for a pamper. He certainly looks more like a Patterdale Cross now. Was a very good boy until mummy came back. Then he was up to all his naughty tricks. Funny dog though ❤️ Debbie Davies Manning

Meet Chumleigh, My first Boarder Terrier groom today. He’s had a tough few months after some surgery so this was his 1st bath and groom and he certainly looked better afterwards ❤️. And a very good boy he was. Made his way straight into my hubbies lap.

Just had the beautiful Little Lola in for a groom, she’s an Imperial Shih Tzu, so much smaller than a Shih Tzu. Was still kissing me at the end so happy days. Look forward to seeing her in 6 weeks ❤️

HAND STRIPPING
Today’s doggie is Isla the Patterdale Terrier. Traditionally hand stripped twice a year. This process involves no washing or drying and can take approx 3 hours to do ❤️

So today I have had this lovely little trio in. Crumble, Teddy & Bear and they were all very well behaved ❤️. Even enjoyed a chill out in the sofa until they were collected
