🐾 Canine First Aid Course – Friday 17th October 🐾

Would you know what to do if your dog needed emergency help?
Whether you’re a devoted dog owner or work with dogs professionally, this course will give you the essential skills and confidence to respond in a first aid situation.

You’ll learn practical, life-saving techniques and cover key topics that every dog owner and canine professional should know.

Capel Manor College’s Dog Grooming Parlour is looking for spaniels to take part in our training sessions.

Bring your beloved dog along and let our trainee groomers pamper them with a professional full groom that includes:

✔️ Ear cleaning

🌟 Celebrating Our Talented Team! 🌟

As we mentioned in our last post, our amazing staff have been busy over the summer continuing to hone their grooming skills, with some of our staff competing in dog grooming competitions with great success.

Salon Groomer of The Year:
🐾 Charlotte achieved an incredible 2nd place in a Terrier Handstripping competition with a gorgeous Border Terrier.
🐾 Rebecca placed with a Fox Terrier Handstrip
It was also wonderful to see former students and industry friends placing in their categories — we’re so proud of you all! ❤️

Premier Groom:
Rebecca also made waves at the Premier Groom Competition in Stoneleigh — winning 1st place in the Gundog Handstrip Open Class with her stunning Cocker Spaniel, Tilly! 🏆 This was a large and highly competitive class, making the win even more impressive.On top of that, Rebecca earned another prestigious Golden Scissor Award and now moves into the Champ classes, meaning she can compete internationally! 🌍✂️

👏 Huge congratulations to everyone — we can’t wait to see what’s next!

🌞 Can you believe we’re already halfway through the summer break?

While things are a little quieter at the grooming parlour, we’re taking the opportunity to give the space a fresh lick of paint and a deep clean. Meanwhile, our amazing tutors are keeping busy—attending dog grooming events and finally having the chance to pamper their own pups (a treat usually reserved for our students!).

It won’t be long before we're back in the office, gearing up for a brand new academic year and looking forward to welcoming you all back.

🐾 In the meantime, don’t forget to regularly brush your dog’s coat—especially if you haven’t been able to book a grooming session. Also, keep an eye out for grass seeds, particularly between the toes and in the ears.

Enjoy the rest of your summer and give your furry friends a cuddle from us! 🐶💛

🎉 Induction Day at the College Grooming Salon! ✂️🐾

Today we welcomed our brand-new Level 3 Dog Grooming students and what a special day it was!

From course introductions to live grooming demonstrations, the students were immersed in everything they need to kick-start their journey in the industry. A big thank you to the amazing Mandy from The Scissor Boutique who kindly gave up her day to assess scissor techniques and offer expert advice on the best tools to suit each student. 🧡

We were lucky to enjoy our induction in a lovely air-conditioned salon, staying cool while soaking up loads of valuable information! Here's to an exciting year ahead for our new students. 🐶💼

What a wonderful week ! ✂️🐾

It's been an incredibly busy and rewarding week, and we are so proud of all our students! 💫

From Level 2 Adults, Level 2 (16–18), Level 3 Adults, to Level 3 (16–18) , every single one of you has worked so hard, grown in confidence, and developed amazing skills. Each of you has been on your own unique journey, and it’s been a privilege to support you along the way.

It’s especially heartwarming to see so many of you stepping into the grooming industry, whether joining salons or setting up your own businesses. We’re super proud of you all. Please stay in touch, we love hearing about your continued success! 💼🐶
