🎆 Happy Guy Fawkes Night! 🎇
It’s officially Fireworks Night, which means the skies will be filled with bangs and bright flashes over the next few evenings.
While the celebrations can be exciting for us, they can be frightening and stressful for our furry friends.
Here are a few simple tips to help keep your dog calm and safe this weekend 👇
🐾 Walk During the Day
Try to walk your dog earlier in the day, before any fireworks begin. With nights drawing in, fireworks can start as early as 4pm. A good long walk will help tire them out and reduce anxiety later in the evening.
🏠 Create a Safe Space
Close windows and curtains to muffle sounds and block flashes. Set up a cosy den with their favourite toys, blankets, and maybe a piece of your clothing for comfort.
🎶 Soothing Sounds
Keep the TV or radio on to help mask the noise. Gentle background sound can make a big difference!
🐶 Stay Calm
Dogs take cues from us, try to stay relaxed and act normally. Giving too much attention to their fear can sometimes increase anxiety.
Stay safe, enjoy the festivities, and give your pets an extra cuddle tonight! 💫
