Driving with a dog in the car could land you a £5,000 fine or lose your drivers licence.

Rule 57 of the Highway Code states: “When in a vehicle make sure dogs or other animals are suitably restrained so they cannot distract you while you are driving or injure you, or themselves if you stop quickly. A seat belt harness, pet carrier, dog cage or dog guard are ways of safely restraining animals in cars.”

Being in breach of this advice can see drivers facing on the spot fines of up to £1,000, a maximum fine of £5,000, nine points on their license and even a driving ban and compulsory retest.

Just a reminder with Christmas approaching..

Please do not buy Rawhide (or anything containing rawhide)

The journey starts with the hides being soaked in a toxic sodium sulphide to remove the hair and fat.

More chemicals are used in order to split the hide into layers which is then washed with hydrogen peroxide to give the white "pure" look and remove the rancid smell.

Now comes the pretty festive colours and the glue to form cute shapes.

They regularly cause intestinal blockages and choking.
The chews become slippery when wet and are near impossible to get hold of to save a choking dog.

Starting Friday 13th August

Puppy School - 6:15-7:15pm
Suitable for puppies up to 8 months of age.
Puppy School is all about teaching your puppy how to cope with, and behave appropriately in every social situation. Teaching them all the basics, meeting and greeting, food manners, how to relax and settle, how to walk on loose lead, recall, grooming, play and much more.
£120 for 6 week course.
No more than 6 in the class.
All puppies must be fully vaccinated.

Terrible Teens and Beyond - 7:30-8:30pm
Suitable for all dogs from 8 months of age to veterans.
This class is designed as a follow on from puppy school. Its a class to help you relate to your dog more effectively, reward appropriate behaviours and build on your relationship together. I’ll help you ensure your dog walks nicely on lead, ignore others unless invited, come back quickly when called, how to be a polite all rounded dog and much much more.
£108 for the 6 week course.

The Royal Veterinary College (RVC) are conducting research and we’ll be providing information on any suspected cases.
