It's only MARCH 16th!!! π²
This is the first tick I have removed for 2024, from a spaniel that visited today for her pamper.
Keep your π open for any hitch hikers after your walks β€οΈπΆ
I had to add a video of little Rosie β€οΈ She just too happy π
Rosie and her family have a new addition to the family πΆ. Congratulations π
Rosie says she cannot wait until he's old enough for her to snuggle him β€οΈπΆ
It's that time of year again!
Although ticks can be found all year round they do seem more prevelant when it's warmer... maybe because the grasses are longer, and we are exploring more as the weather becomes warmer.
Ticks are small external parasites that attach to your dogs skin. They can attach to any animal, and us humans!
They attach using their small mouth parts. They embed into the skin and feed on the animals blood before moving onto another animal. Potentially spreading disease between animals.
Ticks can carry a wide range of unpleasant infections, including Anaplasma, Ehrlichia, Lyme Disease and a newcomer to the UK, Babesia canis.
Most treatments are NOT repellents, and the ticks still have to attach to be exposed to the treatment. The time the treatment takes to take affect varies from 4 - 48 hours.
Its always a good idea to check your pet at least once a day, and safely remove any ticks you find, and dispose of them.
π In the last week I have removed 4 ticks from 4 different dogs. If anyone needs any advise on removing ticks I will be happy to help. I also have a few tick removers in stock.
Little Evie β€οΈ was back for a full pamper. I'll never forget the first time she came. I really thought I had met my match. She was so, so scared. She would flitch when I toughed her, squeal, grumble and try and eat me. But I have worked her out and we are now buddies. As you can see Evie is a very happy little girly β€οΈπΆ
Percy π was a little reluctant to come in... and also a little reluctant to leave ππ
Last in today was my little pal Rosie β€οΈ Back in 2018 when Rosie first started coming to me for her haircut she was such a timid little girly. Now she waves her hooman off and happily walks in. She loves cuddles and cannot stop wagging her tail β€οΈπΆ
I thought I would add a little video of Marge being dried ...because she's worth it ππ
***Disclaimer - not all guinea pigs are this chilled being pampered. Marge is extremely well handled and has had 6 years of pampering.
Where did the week go? π²
