Top Dog Home Boarding & DayCare is a family run business with life long experience, love and passion for dogs, who shared their home with nearly thousand of dogs in the last nearly 10 years.
We refurbished our house to open plan sitting/dining room, kitchen, bathroom, and garden to be available to use for our and guest dogs.
Home Boarding & DayCare- means home from home environment for your dog. They stay in our home as part of our family as one/two of my own.
Depending on the arrangement at home, dogs can sleep on our sofa, crate or their own dog bed. As all dogs live, sleep, eat, use the garden and go for a walk together- we make sure that dogs who come to stay with us are very well socialized, neutered and not aggressive to prevent any issues or disagreement between dogs.
All dogs must be fully vaccinated and have a copy of their vaccination card or print out as proof including kennel cough, flea & Worming treated to prevent any health issues. All dogs must be microchipped and also have an ID (identification tag with owners name, address, and contact number- but not dogs name)
We are licensed and insured dog boarding business under Bexley Council
Before any dog can stay with us, we must meet and asses the dog and to make sure you as the owner is happy for your four-legged baba to stay with us. We call this meeting a pre-stay visit. We do not do trial night as some dogs it can take up to 3 days to settle in the new environment, but after their first stay, they settle much quicker next time. Some dogs- they feel happy and settle within 5min.
There are 2 ways to do a pre-stay:
1) We arrange the day that you available preferably in the morning around 9.30am to come to us with your dog/s and come for a walk with us to our local park, where we would be taking them when they stay with us. It gives them a chance to meet dogs in the natural environment, you would meet people that we walk with on daily basis and i can practice recall with them, so it helps when we take them out while they have their holiday.
Then, after an hour, we would walk back to the house, where they could get to know the house and we go through the forms-this is our preferred option as we only recently started doing this way and results of dog settling in much quicker
2) If you don't have so much time to spend, we can do house only introduction. Dogs are more nervous as they come to a new environment with other dogs who will be barking after a door knock and they see a new dog or human coming in.
All dogs get put away in the kitchen behind the gate, so they and you can see each other. We let dogs get to know the house and we then let our dogs one at the time to meet them.
We now have 12year old Golden retriever Benjy, 1 year old golden retriever Stanley and new addition to family 14week old golden Kobi
If dogs don’t show any aggressive behavior towards any of our dogs and owner is happy- we can then go through registration forms and book in the stay.
We charge £25 per night
(if the dog is dropped off Monday morning and get picked up Tuesday night we will only charge for 1 night and 1day)
Day care is also available for £22 per day and we open from 7.30am- 8.30pm (earlier time can be arranged)
