💙A rather busy Saturday here at Dotties!💙

We have had the pleasure of looking after Lilly & Jaxz today whilst their paw-rents were away getting married! What a fun filled day it has been with these two with walks and plenty of playtime!⚽️

Congratulations to the happy couple and thank you for choosing Dotties to care for your doggies on such a special day! We are truly honoured!💒💍

We also had the return of Cooper & Chubbs! We haven’t walked these boys in a little while so it was lovely to see their wee cheeky faces again! These boys always have such fun on their walks!🐶🐾

We have recently invested in GPS trackers which will be attached to your dogs whilst they are on their walks with us - meaning I can track their live location at all times!🐾

⛑️ Canine First Aid & CPR Trained
Having attended Pet-ex Services Canine First Aid & CPR Training course back in April of this year, I am very proud to advise that I am fully trained in these areas and hold all relevant certificates!📝

🎒 First Aid Kit
Whilst on my walks I always ensure I carry my Canine First Aid Kit with me in the event of any injuries that I can also tend to on the go!🐶

🔐 Fully Insured With Protectivity
Whilst your dogs are using my services please have peace of mind that they are fully insured!🤩

🚐 Fully Equiped Van For Safe Transportation
My Van is fully equipped with crates that allow me to transport your dogs to and from their walk as safely as possible! My van is also well ventilated and I always carry fresh water for your thirsty pooches as well as spare leads, collars, harnesses etc!😄

🌈💙It is with the heaviest of hearts that we announce the sudden and very sad passing of Yogi!🌈💙

Anyone that knew Yogi knew what a big, friendly softie he truly was! He was adored by everyone who had the pleasure of meeting him! You simply couldn’t not love Yogi!🥰🐾

He was always so happy to go for his walks and made so many friends during his time with us! Our walks won’t be the same without him and we will all miss him dearly!💔🐾

Our sincere condolences go to Yogi’s family and we please ask that you respect their privacy at this difficult time! He honestly couldn’t have had a better family and passed knowing how loved he truly was!💙

Run free Yogi! You may be gone but you will never be forgotten! We hope you have all of the Premier Inn pillows up there and an unlimited amount of balls to play with! .. Oh and we also hope you have plenty of muddy puddles to roll around in too!🥹🌈♥️

Meet Mash 🥺❤️

This little manny has recently joined us for some group walks!🐾♥️

Our first Miniature Dachshund!🥳😍

Mash is still a little bit shy but his new friends have been super welcoming of him and they are very excited to have another crew member on board with us!😃🐾

We are excited for more walks with Mash and cannot wait to see how he progresses and gains confidence!☺️♥️

🐍 Adders 🐍

As the weather begins to warm, we have noticed an increase in calls regarding adder bites.

The adder (Vipera berus berus) is the only venomous snake native to the UK, and is also found across northern Europe. It is a protected species in the UK. Adders are most commonly, but not exclusively, found on dry, sandy heaths, sand dunes, rocky hillsides, moorlands and woodland edges. The clinical signs of an adder bite can include rapid and progressive swelling around the bite site, pain, lethargy, vomiting, bruising, bleeding and collapse.

What should you do if your pet has been bitten by an adder?
❌Do not panic.
❌Do not interfere with the bite.
❌Do not apply a tourniquet.
❌Do not attempt to touch or catch the snake.
❌Do not kill the snake – it is a protected species.
❌If practical, carry your dog to your car and go to your veterinary surgeon - do not delay seeking advice even if your pet is well as things can change quickly.

Adders are not aggressive and generally only bite when provoked. They hibernate in the winter and as a result most bites occur in the summer. Pets are frequently bitten on the leg, head or neck. If your pet has been bitten by an adder (even if you did not see the snake or are not sure what happened) – contact your vet immediately. Your vet will examine your pet to determine the location of the bite and extent of the swelling.

Veterinary professionals can call us any time on 02073 055 055 if required for assistance with managing cases of adder bites. We also hold a list of antivenom stockists across the UK. Please note that antivenom is not indicated in all cases.

Be Tick Aware! 🕷️❌

Unfortunately tick season is back upon us 🕷

We’ve been spotting them cropping up a fair bit lately and Amber was brushing Poncho’s ears after work today and found a tick halfway into his ear canal! 🤢 Luckily she managed to get it before it had disappeared inside his ear.

We always do a quick check of the dogs back at the van to see if we can spot any noticeable ticks but just a wee reminder to double check your dog when you get home - these are the places ticks like to hide in the most!
